Editorial Reviews:

2008 release. As ghetto super-hero Bobby Digital, The RZA has collected a fanatical fan base in addition to the Wu-heads that have remained loyal to him over the years. Digi Snacks consists of all-new panoramic productions, along w/guest production from David Banner and other side artist appearances from various Wu-Tang members

Comment: I've never liked all that much of his solo sht, but digi snacks is pretty hot. Tra ya ya ya is fire, no question.

Summary: Just OK
Comment: I've been a fan of RZA for as long as he's been in the business. But as one of his biggest fans I am obligated to be critical of him. This album is not one of his best efforts and his fans should know that. First of all he doesn't really spit on every track all the way through. His album is riddled with appearences which are not memorable but just annoying. I really only want to hear RZA or Wu-affiliates that have skill. Last but not least is the laziness of his rhymes which is unusual. Overall the beats are tight and because of that it's worth copping. It's just too bad the hidden track was the best one.

Summary: Delicious! (4 Stars)
Comment: "Digi Snacks" marks a significant change in RZA's style. It's quite a bit different than his other offerings as Bobby Digital. And anyone who's been following his recent Wu & non-Wu projects, knows he's up on the experimental tip as of late. With that said, "Digi Snacks" offers some incredible production on what may be his most cohesive Bobby Digital project yet. Where RZA was more "in your face" on his 1998 album, he is decidedly more laid back here. The production is dark & mysterious, as well as head-noddingly gorgeous. In short, this is a some classic RZA material.

While RZA doesn't come as aggressively visceral as he once did, his rhyming style is still very tight and alluring. I'm really digging his lyrical content too. To me, he's making all the right moves with this album. However, there is one track that I constantly skip, and it is a notable slip-up. "Straight Up The Block" featuring David Banner is pure trash in my opinion. Banner doesn't do anything but ruin this track, and his contributed production is actually fairly weak as well. It's a little disappointing considering this is the first single on the album, and it's the only wack joint on the CD. It's actually a deterrent for those that learn about new projects from the radio. Thankfully, that is the only real blemish on the entire album despite a couple semi-forgettable (though not bad) cuts. My top picks are "Long Time Coming", "You Can't Stop Me Now", "Try Ya Ya Ya", "Money Don't Own Me", "Creep", & "Drama". Highly recommended material.

Summary: In RZA I Trust!
Comment: You either love him or hate him, but I for one believe and support his evolution as a musician and an artist. Some wish he would get back to the grittier more raw flavours of 93 - 97: ET36, OBFL, LS, Bob Digi in Stereo, etc. But all artists evolve and sometimes revert to an older style. I'm confident RZA will give his detracters what they've been craving. Back to Snacks - Its new, fresh, creative, and breakthrough. There's alot happening on every track and RZA may have changed the game by evolving hip-hop AGAIN.

Summary: Bobby Digital Is Back! Bududududu
Comment: Before Digi Snax, RZA has not released a solo album since 2003, when he dropped "Birth Of A Prince" and "World According To RZA". Its been 7 years since we have heard any Bobby Digital since "Digital Bullet" back in 2001. Here in 2008, RZA comes back to release a dope Bobby Digital album!

The lyrics in Digi Snax are on point basically every track. He has a few real life tracks like "You Cant Stop Me Now", "Drama", "Up Again" and a few others, a few fun tracks, and the others are just Bobby Digital type songs w/ that RZA flavor. But lyrics are definitely on point just about every track. Is it the BEST lyrics from RZA we have heard? Of course not, but he shows no signs of having fallen off! Wu fans will definitely feel this. One track that was sort of shocking from the start, was "Straight Up The Block", that was produced by David Banner. Not the type of track RZA normally does but when he does it this time it came out good.

The production, RZA comes back with a different but hot style!! If you compare the production on this album compared to lets say "Digital Bullet", you notice a difference, but if your a true Wu head, you can notice some small similarities. The thing I love about RZA, is that he IS a master producer. He always sticks w/ one style, but his style has so many different flavors to it so your never getting the same type of music each time, and in Digi Snax it shows! Here are my top 5 beats: "You Cant Stop Me Now", "Good Night", "No Regrets", "Up Again", and "Dont Be Afraid"(which is the bonus track). Production wise, RZA shines once again.

Last thoughts, this album is right up there with previous RZA releases. The one and only downfall in my opinion were the appearances. You have Inspectah Deck(which is the only Wu related appearance), then you got Stone Mecca, Monk, Thea Van Seijen(which appears on multiple tracks), and then you have Beretta 9, and Black Knights+Northstar. I would have liked to have seen some other immediate Wu-Tang members on the album, that would have made the album a lot better.

But overall, if you like RZA or any other Wu-Tang music you'll like this, pick it up!

My Top 5 Songs
1.You Cant Stop Me Now
2.Money Dont Own Me
3.Creep
4.Drama
5.Dont Be Afraid
