They washed up so soft and the larger size makes it easier to put the pad on the mattress. I didn't use any weird baby detergent or anything but the jersy type material is great. You can tell that the seams won't twist and the sides/elastic won't deteriorate quickly like some others have in the past. I am really happy with them, even considering their cost compared to others.
