Use the French Fry cut disc to slice potatoes into perfectly uniform 1/4" sticks for frying or oven baking, and vegetables into colorful strips for salads and crudites. The fine shredding disc has teeth distributed in a unique pattern and is ideal for hard cheeses, or lace-like strands of carrots and zucchini for breads and cakes, as well as for shredding chocolate or coconut for desserts. And finally the medium shredding disc, suitable for slicing veggies for stir fries or fruit slices for tarts.

Summary: Cuisinary Quality
Comment: As with all things Cuinart, the quality is excellent. The prices are a bit steep, but you pay for an item that will last and last. All the blades I've purchased have been a useful addition to the processor itself. Since I've expanded my collection of discs, I've been using my processor far more than before. So if you don't want to get inspired, then I recommend you limit yourself to those discs that accompanied your processor.

Summary: You do not need them all
Comment: The set contains medium shredding disc, 4-mm slicing disc and 6x6 french fry disc. But medium shredding disc and 4 mm slicing discs are already included with the food processor. The only new thing in this set is the french fry disc, so you do not need the set, do not waste your money, just go and buy french fry disc, if you need it. It will cost you probably two times less. By the way, amazon.com stopped selling the french fry discs separately, and this stinks.

Comment: The blades on these discs are heavy, sharp and well made. But you need a detachable stem accessory to use them for my food processor (a DC-5 series). The stem did not come with the discs or the processor, is not currently available from Amazon. I finally found it at the Cuisinart website.
