Spotlight customer reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: Works like a champ Comment: Had this lying around. When i acquired a spare Dell workstation, I bought a cheapo hard drive, installed Ubuntu and now happily jump between Dell Worlstation/Ububtu AND HP Laptop/Win Xp.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent product that will save you space! Comment: I've used this product for almost 6 years now and have noticed no problems or degradation of video signal or response time.
I'm using it with a Flat screen monitor and 2 PCs. One of the pcs is my web/email machine and the other is a gaming machine. The CTRL CTRL mechanism for switching between pcs works great and has only been a problem in some games where CTRL is used for something else. I'd say this has occurred less than 2% of the time though.
The only thing that I would like to see is the addition of speaker support, but that really isn't in any of the KVM switch products. Customer Rating: Summary: My first KVM Comment: It was on sale and I grabbed it and am very satisfied with what I got. I set it up and had it going in about ten minutes. Customer Rating: Summary: Cheap and unreliable Comment: I couldn't get this to work properly, I called tech support and tried a lot on my own (I'm a vetern IT systems engineer so I'm no idiot). This is a cheap piece of equipment and its very unreliable. My problem was a very long delay in keystroke and mouse movement reaction time on the screen. Don't waste your money. Customer Rating: Summary: This product rocks!! Comment: I bought this nearly 2 years ago, and have never been unhappy with it. I've used it on DOS, Windows 3.1/95/98/NT/XP and Linux machines, with PS2-AT and USB-PS2 adapters - - they always work. I tried a Belkin Omniview 4-port switch for about 6 months - finally sold it and went back to my Linksys, which does NOT make an annoying BEEP every time I switch between machines, does NOT care which machine I power-up first, and NEVER gets "lost" between machines. Thank you Linksys!
