Despite her conspicuous absence from most media (save the tabloids) in the year 2000, the Celine Dion industry rolls on with her second repackaging job in two years. The Collector's Series Volume One culls a dozen cuts from previous U.S. releases, including "That's the Way It Is" from Dion's 1999 greatest hits CD. Two Spanish-language numbers, a previously Japan-only multilingual version of David Foster's "Be the Man (on This Night)," and a song from the 1996 Olympics opening ceremony fill out the disc. Guest appearances by Streisand ("Tell Him") and Bocelli ("The Prayer") remind us and her that, time off or no, she's still a star. Comment: Yes there are a few repeats but I didnt mind so much because ther other newer songs are all very pretty. I pretty much own ever Celine album so I had to add this one, and I'm glad I did.

Comment: This C/D was damaged. I mailed it back and received a new one which was very good. I received a letter saying that my return was not received and that I would be charged for the damaged C/D. I do not still have the postage receipt where I sent it back. That is not good. It is a problem with ordering things over the internet. If I buy it at a store and it is damaged I can just return it and get a new one. If I have to pay for the damaged c/d it is not worth it. LaNell Crumpler

Summary: I really like Celine, but what was this?
Comment: I was just a little confused when this cd came out a few years ago. I bought it because well...it's Celine, and I adore her. BUT...why did she release this cd besides to make some money during her absence? I mean' C'mon! Where's volume 2 or 3? Are we going to get them, or are we just stuck with this volume 1 with VERY RANDOM songs on it? If you're a Celine fan, get this cd to fill out your collection, but if you're not...don't waste your money. If you want a Celine album, I would recommend All the Way: Decade of Hits, and One Heart.
