Editorial Reviews:

Reliable optical technology combined with an innovative scroll wheel that acts as a third button sets Logitech's 904353-0403 Trackman Wheel Optical apart from ordinary trackball mice. Patented optical technology provides superior precision, reduced wear, and smooth motion, and eliminates the need for regular cleaning. The scroll wheel provides easy scrolling and the added convenience of an extra mouse button, enabling you to jump easily to your favorite Web sites. The ball is ideally positioned for thumb operation, and the comfortable shape of the mouse allows for strain-free extended use. Its smaller size also saves desk space, reduces hand and wrist movement, and plugs very easily into your system's USB or PS/2 port. Compatible with both Windows and Macintosh systems.

Customer Rating: Summary: How to clean your trackball Comment: This is less a review then a public service announcement.
Logitech never bothered to tell you how to clean your trackball. Leading many to pan the device because it will crud up.
1) Flip the trackball over. See that hole in the bottom, through which you can see the ball?
2) Take a blunt object (e.g., eraser end of the old #2 pencil) and push that through the hole, popping out the ball itself. Don't let that ball roll too far.
3) Flip the trakball (sans ball) right side up.
4) You'll notice three small ball rollers inside the cavity where the ball once rested. They are likely caked in dirt. You will also notice a window, behind which lies the laser (?) sensor.
5) Take a small pointy object (e.g., the metal tip of a mechanical pencil) and clean the dirt off the rollers. It should just come right off. There is no need to soap & water or other wet cleaners.
6) Just pop the ball back into the trackball.
7) Enjoy.
Customer Rating: Summary: optical Track ball Comment: The item was shipped in a timely manor, arrived in perfect shape, and was well worth what we paid for it. My husband is getting a lot of use out of it with the laptop computer.
I would DEFINATLY RECOMEND this to anyone who has a laptop computer and limited space.
Customer Rating: Summary: Logitech Trackman Comment: Great product! I hate having to drag a mouse over a mouse-pad. This product allows me to leave the mouse stationary and just move the ball. It is much easier on the wrist if you use the computer as much as I do. This mouse and an erganomic keyboard could do much to eliminate carpal tunnel syndrome in PC users. Add to that the customizable buttons and it is everything you could want in a user interface!
Customer Rating: Summary: This thing rules... Comment: I just bought this thing and plugged it into my laptop. Previously I had only used my touchpad and this makes using my computer so much easier. Effortless scrolling and accurate arrow placement. Plus I don't have to do the click-slide-slide-click-slide movement that comes with a conventional mouse. My wife now wants one for her desktop. Trackball: Much more gooder.
Customer Rating: Summary: This is the..... Comment: BEST mouse!! I love it. This is actually my second one; got my first tracker ball mouse in about 2001. I used it hard for many years~the buttons were no longer responding~had to click several times. I used a regular mouse until my new tracker ball arrived and it brought back the memories of just how hard on the wrist the old "grab and move" mouse is.
If you get tingling fingers and/or your palm hurts, then this is the mouse for you. At first it's takes some getting use to, using your thumb to control the ball. And you may need to adjust the speed at first but the included software is easy to work with.
Logitech makes the best mouse(s).
