Customer Rating: Summary: Power To Go Comment: This replacement power supply did the trick. Easy to install and very quiet. No problems with the 250 watt Long Life ATX PC Computer Power Supply.
Customer Rating: Summary: Plug and play...like parts and peripherals are *supposed* to be Comment: I was on the hunt for an affordable 250watt power supply to replace the one that had burned out in an old PC I had. The PC is a 500MHz with an AMD processor running Windows XP, a printer, and a CDRW. It's just used by my preschooler to run a handful of games. It's hard to find a 250watt power supply these days...however, this one, out of the handful I read up on, got rave reviews.
Pros:
1) Affordable - I got it on Amazon for less than $40, free shipping. It retailed around $40 plus shipping elsewhere. Other comparable 250watters ranged from $26 (and horrible ratings) to over $200.
2) Warranty - This one sported the longest warranty of all that I looked at. Other models had 90 day to 1 year warranty. This one comes with a 3 year warranty.
3) Ease of use - This product literally is plug and play. I unplugged the PC; unhooked and unscrewed the old power supply (if you are a novice at swapping out psupplies, then make note of where the connectors go), popped in the new one, connected it, put the lid back and and was back in action in less than 15 minutes.
4) Quiet - The fan on this power supply is slightly quieter than the previous model I had. The PC is located in a high traffic area in my home, so you have to literally put your ear by the PC case to hear it running.
5) Number of connectors - I only needed four connectors (motherboard, CDRW, DVDROM, floppy), but it comes with two more.
6) Compatibility - Works with Intel Pentium II, III, 4, AMD K6 & Athlon processors
Cons:
None yet. It's been running fine for about a month now.
Overall, it's a great product for the price if you are in the market for a lower wattage power supply.
