Avery Dennison is the leading supplier of office products. It makes a wide variety of products for the office and home, including labels, binders, dividers, cards, pens and pencils, highlighters and markers, and more. Avery makes things easier for you in other ways, too. It partners with a large number of hardware and software companies whose products are specially designed to work with Avery products. The company works with top printer manufacturers such as HP, Canon, and EPSON to make sure that its printable products will perform with their printers, and with prominent software manufacturers such as Microsoft and Corel to ensure that Avery templates are included in their products. And the jam-free guarantee promises that your Avery labels, dividers, and cards will work with the printers for which they are designed.

Customer Rating: Summary: Difficult to use even with practice Comment: My fine motor skills & visual acuity are intact but it took lots of practice to get the labels on correctly using a slim dvd case. Even then the labels sometimes don't go on easily depending on how successful you are at separating the label from the backing sheet. The print quality & label quality are OK. To add to my frustration, the link on the product container gives an expired URL for downloading templates. I couldn't get the Avery Design Pro for Mac software to download correctly & the process froze my browser. Avery's apparently using a text file, not an executable for its download. In conclusion, a nightmare of an expensive product.
Customer Rating: Summary: Avery 08694 Labels Comment: The Avery 08694 are a clear glossy label and unlike others labels I Have used, These labels stick tight to th CD and without the bubbling up. These labels are very clear, no yellow effect.
The Advertisment for this label says 30 pack, but you get 40 labels in this pack.
Now if Avery would let the post office ship this package it would save $4.00 per shippment
Customer Rating: Summary: works great after you master it Comment: I've read the complaints about 'registration' ie. getting the label to line up properly in the printer and on top of the CD/DVD; and complaints about bubbles; and the software. They're valid complaints. It took me a while to get the knack of getting the 'registration' to work (I use a 'thick' CD caddie to get the label to line up with the disc) and 'rolling' the plastic so that the adhisive doesn't trap bubbles (you can't get them out once you have them) and getting used to the software. To create the artwork (graphics & much of the text) I use Adobe PhotoShop, then I import it into the software. Bottom line is that I can make professional looking labels with this product, so I've bought it before and I'll buy it again - about one package / year.
Customer Rating: Summary: Better than White Labels but BEWARE... Comment: I agree with the other reviewers--the software stinks and is IMPOSSIBLE to use. If you have any graphic design background or know someone who does, you can design your own according to the product specs and it will work out well. I also agree that it's difficult to use their "applicator." You need to peel the label off the sheet and eyeball it yourself. If you are careful, you'll get clean contact and a professional looking DVD/CD. I think that the clear labels are much better looking than the white labels. Plus, the white labels are a bit too thick, causing some DVD/CDs not to load and play properly. They also rub off whereas the clear labels stick tight. And yes, they are VERY, VERY expensive for what they are.
To sum it up--if you have the patience and knowledge to produce your own template, go for these labels.
Customer Rating: Summary: Makes your CDs look like crap... Comment: First of all, the previous reviewer is correct in that the software that comes with these labels is WAY too big and clumsy. But that's not my main complaint with this product.
My main complaint is that I can't get these labels on a CD without it looking like crap. I tried their manual "align guide" approach and a labeling tool to apply labels to CDs, both with the same results: The clear label gets air bubbles under it that just can't be gotten out.
Avoid these labels, especially since they're so expensive. Get white labels instead.
