Sit back and relax. The VersaPoint Wireless Keyboard combines pointing with touch-typing, all in a convenient wireless package. It's perfect for Internet browsing, multimedia applications, video conferencing, and everyday computing. Touchpad comfortably located for hands-on pointing and typing. The keyboard features Broadbeam wireless technology, providing a really good range. It is contoured underside - ideal for laptop and hand-held use.

Summary: Home Theater people and couch potatoes, forget this keyboard and buy the OEM version
Comment: This keyboard can be purchased in three different forms that I am aware of. Interlink offers it as just the keyboard or a combo package that includes the keyboard along with their RemotePoint RF presentation wireless mouse/pointer. You can also get this keyboard under the Adesso brand, whom I believe is the manufacturer since they seem to specialize in wireless keyboards whereas Interlink appears to be a company for presentation products (perhaps they make the pointer and package it with a rebranded Adesso). I purchased the Interlink combo and then returned it and purchased the Adesso instead. My evaluation of these products was under Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (32 bit).

Adesso vs. Interlink versions....

First, the mouse. The Adesso uses an optical trackball, which is much easier to use. The Interlink has a thumb pad type of joystick which is okay to use and takes some getting used to. The thumb pad mouse seems like it may have been included to match the one on the pointer/mouse. The one on the Interlink pointer works very well, much better than the one on the Interlink keyboard.

The index finger buttons on the front of the keyboard are a little different as well. On the interlink you get mouse buttons and on the Adesso, the right button is the left mouse click and the left is not a button but rather a scroll wheel. The wheel scrolls only, there is no push button function.

Adesso has an extra row of buttons above the F keys rather than the logo and trim stickers found on the Interlink. You get an ID button, forward/back buttons, IE, email and My Computer buttons on the left side plus transport and volume buttons on the right side.

The RF receivers I had were also different. The Adesso one is small, like a USB memory stick. The Interlink was a larger unit (it was round and about the diameter of a hockey puck and half as thick) with a USB cable hard wired to it and a little (~3") antenna. This may have been a special receiver since I purchased the combo package with the keyboard and air mouse / pointer.

Range is great with both keyboards and neither requires drivers to be loaded. You only need to load software for the air mouse /pointer if you use that and even then you only need it if you want to reprogram the buttons to do specific actions.

Finally there is the subject of the quantity of monetary units that are required to obtain one of these keyboards. Both keyboards are available here on Amazon with the free supersaver shipping. The Interlink will require twice as many monetary units to acquire it, however.

Go to the "interlinkelectronics" web site or the "adesso" web site to see for yourself. The Adesso is model number: WKB 3000UB.

Conclusion. For HTPS or couch potatoe, do not waste time with the Interlink. Go directly to Adesso.

Summary: Not bad, but not as good as it should be for the $.
Comment: I purchased this product to use from the comfort of my recliner. Both my Mac and PC use my HDTV as a gigantic monitor, a wireless keyboard with built-in mouse seemed ideal.

The good: The Interlink keyboard is light, handy, and quite comfortable as a lap keyboard. Use with both the Mac and PC was trouble-free. The RF unit works as advertised without character loss at about 3 meters range, I've not attempted to use it beyond that distance. The keyboard is large enough to be comfortable but small enough to be handy. I've used the unit for writing, web browsing and gaming over the past several weeks.

The bad: The mouse is really sad, considering what this thing costs. The pad works, but fingertip pressure sufficient to move the mouse is painful. Thumb pressure is required. The mouse movement is precise, but very slow. Pressing hard will make the mouse move faster, but this becomes tiring and uncomfortable over extended use, especially if web browsing or playing mouse-heavy games. The one feature I can't believe this unit lacks is a scroll wheel - even the poor mouse could be overlooked if one could scroll easily. Volume controls would also have been nice.

Overall, I'm content with the purchase - it'll do - but I expected better handling on the built-in mouse.

Summary: to you from a PS3
Comment: I am writing from my Versapoint keyboard on my PS3. The keyboard was design for the living room or classroom. The keyboard is compact and sturdy. It is strong enough to sit on your lap or grip with two hands to the side. What I like is the very responsive keypad. The mouse in mouse pad is convenient but slow and lagging. There are trigger buttons in the front.

If I waited a little then I would have gotten the Bluetooth rechargeable from Logitech. The RF range on this pad is good with no interference at all. The BTC 9019urf Wireless Multimedia USB Keyboard is half the price and has a bettter mousetick, but it works with the PC and has some issue with the PS3.

Summary: Excellent Deal
Comment: I purchased this for use in one of our classrooms where we use a computer and mounted projector for powerpoints. The range of this product is exactly as billed. I'm no longer tied to the computer. In addition, it isn't necessary to have a mouse, which makes this particularly useful if you have a limited desk space or are using it away from your computer. I also like the smaller size of the keyboard because it will fit in the podium, where as the keyboard that came with the computer was to wide.

Summary: Interlink Versapoint pleasure
Comment: We use it on our cobbled together media-laptop that displays across the room on the big screen LCD. The mouse operation is a mite slow, but no one should hurry in the entertainment center anyhow. otherwise, this keyboard is a big thumbs up.
