Give your kitchen a modern appliance with retro styling. Enjoy healthy fruit smoothies in the a.m. and less innocent beverages in the p.m. The continuous speed and pulse along with a stainless steel cutting blade will have your ingredients chopped, blended, and purEed in next to no time.

Customer Rating: Summary: Great Features but Too Loud Comment: I give it a 5 star on design -- I like the smaller 5-cup size (not too heavy), the sleek look, the simple on/off switch, and it's simple to clean. However I give it a zero rating on noise level. It is way too loud, I really wish I hadn't purchased it due to this.
Customer Rating: Summary: To those who "blew the motor"... Comment: I've had this beehive blender for about 4 years now, and make smoothies with 10-12 ice cubes every few days. Never a hitch until recently, when I cranked it up with ice packed into the blades. (This is a dumb thing to do, but I'd done it dozens of times before and got away with it). A buzz, flash, pop, and this great blender died.
Well, my point in writing this is that the "dead motor" problem is easy to fix. Unscrew the bottom, and you'll find a fuse. Get a replacement fuse at Radio Shack. You have to snip the old wires and solder in the new fuse, but then (at least in my case) it's as good as new.
So, my only suggestion for this great blender is to add a fuse holder accessible on the bottom that doesn't require disassembly or soldering.
Then again, the fuse won't come into play if you put the ice on top of softer ingredients or liquid when you blend.
If/when this blender really dies I will consider it money well spent and get another one. METAL GEARS, need I say more?
Customer Rating: Summary: Anyway it's powerful! Comment: Family all the members bought this blender, and became happy.
Tens of times more made in Japan used so far of juice using ice can also be done easily powerfully.
It has a slightly small capacity and it's felt, but you can break apart easily, so the maintenance is also easy and it's easy to use. (A tooth is very sharp, so, attention is necessary for handling.) I'd like to recommend everyone by all means.
Customer Rating: Summary: good, but loud Comment: I bought this Oster after reading the reviews here and in Consumer Reports. No blender seemed to be a clear winner on all counts. Nonetheless, I like everything about this one, except the noise.
Rather than repeating what others have said, I'll simply add how I deal with the excessive noise this blender makes. I put something sound-dampening between the bottom of the blender and the countertop. A folded tea towel, a square cut from a rubber mat etc. What I use is not so high that it even touches the bottom of the blender. Still, I was concerned that this might make the blender overheat, and so I watched closely. But there has been no problem whatsoever. The key is to have something between the blender and the hard, sound-reflective surface of the countertop. It makes a significant difference in decibels.
Customer Rating: Summary: a real man's blender Comment: The Classic Beehive exudes nostalgia of a time when a kitchen was where ladies made dinner in high heels. Welcome to the 21st century. We survived feminism and metro-sexuality, and are now dawning an age of gender-neutrality in the kitchen. To help men transition to this new era, Oster has designed a blender with the power and noise of a 64.7cc leafblower. Yeah, maybe your makin' smoothies for the guys, but unless your wearing an embroidered apron, there won't be any questions.
