Customer Rating: Summary: Top Quality Desk Comment: The shipper stored the desk on the truck in a completely incorrect orientation, and also moved it out of the truck on a dolly in an incorrect orientation. This is not HON's fault or Amazon's fault, but I would watch the shipper carefully as he unloads the product and be prepared to document any damage in case you need to make a claim.
I was expecting to see at least some minor damage, but the packaging was good and the desk has an extremely solid build. The quality level was further demonstrated when we found the desk was a *single piece* (not something you assemble at all) and we had to set it on one corner length-wise (putting all 218 lbs of weight on one corner) and rotate it on that corner, in order to negotiate it through the second story landing of our house. The corner was only ever so slightly rounded by the experience - nothing you can notice unless you compare it to the other corners and are completely anal-retentive. Obviously not something you want to do if you can avoid it - but we couldn't avoid it. If you are considering this desk for a home office or small office, make sure you note the measurements and confirm you can both fit and physically move (all 218 lbs at once) this desk into its intended space - plan ahead (I thought I had planned ahead, but the single piece aspect of it threw a wrench into the plan).
The finish of the metal and faux wood top are flawless and look like they will hold up to a lot of abuse. In addition, the design and function of the drawer slides and key interlock mechanisms are also excellent. You can also put a *lot* of weight on this desk - I don't know what the limits are, but I have an 80 lb 25" CRT monitor, two towers (1 server, 1 PC), and some peripherals on it, and it looks like it could also hold the weight of several people on top of all that.
If you want top-notch professional level equipment for your office or home office - this is it!
