Summary: A real convenience
Comment: We've had this product for a few years, and it is easy to set, and opens consistently. If we are going to be really late coming home, or are out of town and only want to have someone come to the house to feed our cats once a day, it allows them to be fed on their accustomed, twice-daily schedule. We are thinking about buying a second one, though, since one of our cats is more aggressive and eats faster than his sister. When we set it for both compartments to open simultaneously for a meal for the two of them, we assume the female probably ends up getting pushed away before her side is empty. Since we only do this for one meal, though, it hasn't been a serious issue -- we just compensate when we get home, or feed her extra at the next supervised mealtime.

Summary: Waste of money
Comment: I bought this hoping to save sleep, allowing our cats to eat before we get out of bed in the morning. Unfortunately the instructions are inscrutable: nothing indicates how the switch with positions "6/12" and "12/24" interacts with the "1 side/2 side" switch, and trial/error over several days didn't resolve anything. Apparently If you want the lid(s) to open at 6 a.m. you have to start the timer at midnight every night! Far from practical for a daily routine, and based on the inconsistent results in my testing I wouldn't trust it to feed my pets while away for a day.

Summary: Not what it's cracked up to be
Comment: I initially ordered this product because it was inexpensive and would give me greater flexibilty to be away for more than an afternoon without paying someone to feed and medicate my dog. I have a large, picky dog that requires meds two times a day, so I thought this would be perfect. The shipping was excellent. It arrived a day earlier than scheduled, but when I opened the product box, I found it difficult to figure out. It's NOT intuitive what-so-ever. Then when I finally figured it out, I discovered that the first compartment would not open and/or stay open on its own. It's also very light, so that when your large dog is eating out of it, it will skirt around as they root in the corners for all the food.
The company is sending me a new one that they say works. So hopefully my next review will be a better one.
The customer service at As Seen on TV was very nice and accomidating. They get 5 stars....but so far, not the product.
