Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent tactical knife! Comment: Bought 2 of these (the price was right!) to replace my S&W knife. I wanted something good looking, practical, and with spring assist. This knife is high quality, sharp as anything, and the assisted opening is a great feature when you are trying to open or cut something with one hand.
It is very lightweight and the bayonet clip is very sturdy. That was a concern as my S&W was extremely well built. This clip is smaller, yet very strong. And the low profile carry is a bonus.
If you want a great quality dependable knife, then you won't go wrong buying a SOG Flash II.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love my new knife Comment: I got this knife to replace one I had lost. I love being able to open it easily with one hand since that is a necessity for me at work.
Customer Rating: Summary: I agree a very good knife Comment: I agree with the majority of these reviews. The open assist it great. The zytel handle took a little getting used to, but the reduction in weight makes it worth it. I have carried a Benchmade knife and this knife in my pocket. You can feel the weight of the Benchmade, but not the SOG. I got a SOG Flash for my son who uses it in his work every single day, and he loves it too.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good knife at a good price Comment: This knife fits my hand well. It is easy to grip and feels secure; especially w/ the side knurls. Opening action is smooth but, sometimes, needs operator help to fully extend. Closing is also easy. As I train using both hands, it is important that the tool fit the function and this one does so.
Yes, as noted by others, the clip does not handle lateral torsion well. Locking mechanism is a good feature but I must admit that I do forget to disengage it and wonder why it won't open. I prefer the Kershaw "Speed Bump" assisted opening mechanism.
I recommend this knife. Thr only factor preventing the full 5 Star review is opening mechanism. One further caveat - it may be too small for larger hands.
Customer Rating: Summary: Sharp knife Comment: I agree with everyone else. Well made knife. Drawbacks are the same as others. Poorly designed clip on the knife makes it very hard to remove it fast from your pocket. The lock is a little loose. All in all a super sharp knife that holds an edge well.
