Summary: My favorite corkscrew
Comment: My previous Screwpull pocket model lasted 10+ years and I'm so pleased to find one just the same. I really missed it when I bought something else.

Summary: My favorite corkscrew
Comment: Mine has been in use for nearly 10 years. Bought on a recommendation, I had my doubts, as the plastic felt flimsy and the worm looked too thin. I was certain it would break or pull through corks. Instead, it has turned out to be the best corkscrew I've ever used! Natural or composite corks, artificial corks, punky corks, plastic corks, stuck corks - it handles them all, easily and quickly, plus it's light, compact, and easy to store. I can't stress enough just how fast this corkscrew is - the only ones faster are the rabbit and countertop lever types. All it takes is a quick few twirls around with your finger through the loop of the handle. Done!

Its only shortcoming is that it's hard to use on flanged, or lipped bottles. The feet will spread to allow using it on such bottles, but you have to take care to get the worm going in straight, as the corkscrew isn't resting on its normal supports. I still keep a lever type corkscrew handy for the odd bottles the Screwpull won't handle.

My desire for a Laguiole corkscrew (specifically the La Forge-made Laguiole) has pretty much gone away as a result of the high utility of the Screwpull. Oh well, I may buy the Laguiole anyway - they're too beautiful to pass up!

Summary: Awesome and so easy to use!
Comment: It took a couple bottles of wine to get the hang of it but I love this thing! It's lightweight, compact, and even though it seems too lightweight and not sturdy enough to handle the job, it does with ease. I never bother cutting the foil and this thing breaks the foil and pulls the cork out with no problem. The plastic is tough and I've been using it for several months now with no problems. Turn it one way to dig into the cork and pull it out, then turn it the other way to release the cork from the screw.

The only downside is that when you release the screw from the cork, the cork sometimes gets kind of stuck/wedged in the unit and you have to mess with it a little to get it out. Not a big deal.

The whole thing is actually 3 separate pieces: the guide unit that attaches to the bottle, the screw and the handle. The screw just sits in the unit loosely and the handle attaches to the top and extends when in use. When not in use for storage, the handle retracts and fits around the bottom of the screw and inside the unit as in the photo.

Summary: I love this beast!
Comment: I opened the package without looking at the instructions. I had no idea what to do at first. This is different from the standard corkscrew I'm used to but I'm a manly man and I don't need no stinking instructions ( I said to myself in a growling Spanish accent). Instinctively I knew what to do. Nothing would stop me. I wanted that bottle of 2005 Kendall Jackson Grand Reserve Pinot Noir and this baby wanted to open it.
It guided my hands in a way that was strange but felt so natural. The bottle was opened in seconds. The wine was mine for the taking ... and I took it. Now I find myself trying to write this review.
This honestly was the easiest cork puller I've ever used. It looks weird but it really works. I feel it should last. Certainly longer than this case of Pinot Noir. The Screwpull has a 5 year guarantee. Thank you Mr. Jackson and thank you Screwpull. Now back to my case of Pinot Noir.

Comment: This product is great! I have actually had my original one for ten years. So easy to use. I now purchase them for my friends.
