Customer Rating: Summary: But there is a solution to powder everywhere... Comment: I really love this mineral makeup line, but none of the compacts work. Here is a solution for home or for make-up kit/travel: place a square of duct tape over all but three holes in the inner lid when the product is new and perfectly clean. This controls the flow of powder, so you can shake out just what you need for a single application, and it prevents all the powder from dumping into the lid if the jar tips or turns over. When you carry the makeup in a bag in your purse or luggage, place another little strip of duct tape over the three remaining holes, too. Store the little strip on the edge of the top lid while applying the makeup, then replace it before you drop it in the bag. Voila! No more mess or wasted product. The duct tape square lasts for the life of the product, and the strip can be removed and replaced a few times. Easy, since I carry a small role of duct tape in my luggage to deal with luggage failure, emergency hem repairs, etc. Customer Rating: Summary: slightly overpriced Comment: It is just plastic without even any makeup in it- and you can't insert a refill or anything- kind of messy to fill but convenient. It was hard to get the powder in it, hard to get the powder onto the useless brush, just annoying altogether! BE foundation was meant to be used with a nice large brush so this brush does NOTHING! And when I opened the compact, the powder had moved all to the top so it made even MORE of a mess! PLEASE save your money! Customer Rating: Summary: decent compact for touch-ups Comment: I love Bare Minerals, but don't have room in my bag to carry my whole arsenal of supplies. I like this compact because it has a flip-top. I find the screw-top jars a little hard to handle when I am on the go. I also like the compact because it has a nice mirror. It's not always easy to get to the bathroom for a touch-up. The compact also lets me mix the right proportions of beige and medium beige, so I don't have to bring two foundations with me. The downsides: 1) The brush isn't great, but you can always make-do or just bring an extra brush. 2) This is only for carrying foundation, not so much for an eye color or some other accent, so you're still going to have to bring something extra. (However, there is a little pocket in the zippered pouch for that.) 3) The cost is a bit high, but this *is* a specialized product. Customer Rating: Summary: Not worth getting... Comment: I received this as a free bonus when I purchased my starter kit directly from the Company. The concept is great, a refillable compact & mirror. However this compact fell short (very short) of my expectations. First it is messy & difficult to use/refill. Second, the compact actually leaks powder into the black carry case. And third, the mini brush sheds bristles all the time. Even though I paid nothing (free bonus) for this, it is useless. I would not pay any money to actually purchase it! The make-up itself is great and I have only high marks for it. But Ladies, stick with the jars until the Company comes up with something better as a travel compact!
