Summary: Great skillet.
Comment: After going through several cheaper electric skillets, I am glad I finally went ahead and spent the $99. This is by far the best electric skillet I have purchased. You can feel the high quality of the product as soon as you take it out of the box, it feels nice and solid.
Another great quality is it's not plagued by the unwieldly screw-on legs so many skillets have, it just has rubber feet that keep it firmly in place on your counter while you cook.
I only have one complaint: the oval shape is not as convenient for me as a rectangular skillet, it holds less bacon at a time, for example.
I highly recommend this product!

Comment: This is one of the greatest small appliances I have ever owned. Its shape, eveness of heating and good looks make this Cusinart Skillet a cooks dream. I find my self loving it more each day. When I received it I thought, "this may be too large for the two of us"..not so.. It is all around superior to any other skillet! The extra room in it makes cooking easier and with the non stick coating it is a snap to cook then clean..I appreciated getting such good service by ordering it from Amazon. Every detail of my purchase was wonderful. Thanks so much!

Summary: Great for 3 Years, Then...
Comment: I loved this Cuisinart electric skillet for 3 years. It is attractive, seemingly well-built, cleaned up easily and did a great job cooking.
Then, after three years of use (not real frequent use - maybe once a week on average, if not less), the thermostat stopped working. Like some other negative reviewers here, I discovered that all of a sudden it started cooking everything on the highest possible temperature, no matter what temperature I dialed in on the thermostat.
Given the cost of this unit compared to most others on the market, I would have thought it would last longer than (coincidentally) it's warranty period (i.e., 3 years). I would NOT buy another one.

Comment: The coating in the electric skillet seems to be very high quality. This has been the problem with previous skillets that we would just throw away. This one seems to be a winner.

Summary: rethinking the electric skillet
Comment: I bought this skillet anticipating it would be handy while my kitchen is being renovated and I'd be without cook top facilities. The skillet is beautiful and has nice features but I decided it was not really necessary at this time. The size of it, quite large, could only be justified for me if it was getting consistent use as storing it would be a challenge in a house I'm trying to downsize. I'm returning it but for no other reason than I didn't think I'd make use of it enough to warrant the purchase.
