Comment: The Christian Century is a venerable institution in ecumenically-minded American Protestantism. The Century reviews a wide variety of books, offers commentary on public affairs, and keeps the Christian aware of the wider Church.The Christian Century is a more progressive alternative to Christianity Today and the traditionalist approach the latter publication advocates. It reassures the reader long-wearied by the sectarianism of the right with the Century's ecumenically attentive content. Worthy reading. An ideal gift for laity wanting to keep up with the "big picture", ministers and seminarians, and any person wanting to know what Christians think about the news of the day.
