Summary: Perfect Pin for a Perfect Game
Comment: When you are in a highly competitive bowling league, you'll try almost anything to improve your score even just a few pins. When someone told me about the American flag design lapel pin, I figured it was only a few dollars and worth a shot. Well let me tell you, I noticed a difference from the moment the pin was delivered. When the UPS man rang the doorbell to drop it off, my dog who normally barks at all visitors sat at the edge of the door at perfect attention and a wilting bouquet of flowers in the living room instantly rebloomed and perfumed the whole room.
To be honest, I forgot that I had ordered the pin. But the second I took hold of the cardboard box, I experienced a surge of energy and clarity that I've never before known. Upon opening the box, the feeling increased tenfold.
I'm in several leagues, but Tuesday Night Terrors is the one that I'm most proud of. We were league champions for 4 years in a row until the jerks at The Pizza Shack brought in Joey Salinski as their ringer. I received the package on a Tuesday and was excited to try it out. I affixed the pin to my lapel and noticed a change almost instantly. The first thing that happened was that a blood stain on the collar ( I won't go into details) almost instantly vanished! I had tried 3 dry cleaners to get that stain out, and it just disappeared. I knew this pin was special.
The first ball I threw that night was a strike. So was the second, and the third. It was a great way to start the night. Fourth frame another strike and the fifth. This is the point where you start thinking you'll bowl a perfect game, and you start to worry. But I didn't. I had perfect clarity like this was something I do every day like riding a bike or catching the bus. Sixth frame a strike, seventh frame a strike. People started gathering around and the usual ruckus of the lanes, turned into a quiet murmur. Johnny, my team mate threw a 6, 7, 10 split and we thought his game was over. I pulled off the pin, stuck it to his shirt and believe it or not, he got the spare. I wanted my pin back. I'll save you the details, but I ended up bowling my first 300 game ever and I give all the credit to the pin. That night I had a 866 three game set, the record for the bowling alley all because of this pin. And yea, we destroyed the Pizza Shack and ultimately retook the title.
That night I met Alice, we've been together ever since and I've never been happier. For our 1 year anniversary I got her a matching pin. She conceived our twin sons that night. I owe everything to this pin.
