This unique, Rice-based enzyme powder activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes to smooth the skin and accelerate cell renewal. Our unique Skin Brightening Complex of Bearberry, Aspergillus, Grapefruit and Licorice helps to balance uneven skin pigmentation. Active agents derived from Rice Bran and Rice Extract help to regulate melanin production while micro-exfoliating dead cells. A super-soothing blend of Green Tea, Ginkgo and Colloidal Oatmeal calms inflammation, leaving the skin extraordinarily clear and refreshed. Gentle enough to use on a daily basis. Fragrance free.

Customer Rating: Summary: Outstanding exfoliant for those with dry or sensitive skin Comment: I'm so glad I found this product (by reading the reviews here and on a beauty product site). I've been really frustrated in my search for a *very* gentle exfoliating product since I have dry, sensitive skin with rosacea. Because of the dryness, my skin can get flakey, and invariably, using a washcloth or exfoliating product would make things worse. I almost gave up and accepted my flakey fate until this lovely product came along.
It's an unusual rice-based powder that must be mixed with water before use. The directions say, "after cleansing, dispense about a half-teaspoon of Daily Microfoliant into very wet hands and create a creamy paste by rubbing hands together..."
I don't follow the instructions exactly, as I use a bit more water to create a slightly foamier version before putting it on my face, which seems to work well for me. I did have to add a step to my cleansing routine by first using Dermalogica's "Essential Cleansing Solution," (which seems to be basically a nicer version of liquid Cetaphil), and then finishing off with the microfoliant.
This has worked quite well for me and has been keeping my skin smoother while not making my skin dry (as I had hoped). I also love the fact that Dermalogica products are fragrance-free and well-packaged.
Customer Rating: Summary: Wonderful Product, not Hype Comment: This product really does what it says. I have been using it for years and my skin is in fact noticably smoother and not as acne prone as it used to be. It has also helps to even-tone my african-american skin. Makeup goes on better, sometimes I can even go without, like today. I use only 1 tsp. daily, in the AM in place of a cleanser. It foams and "cleans" my skin pretty much, removing oil and other overnight residue. I also sometimes use a little less H20 to make a paste and apply it as a mask. My bottle lasted me a year in a cool dry place to prevent it from gumming up. Highly recommended and worth the price.
Customer Rating: Summary: Highly recommended exfoliant Comment: I can't believe I'm writing a review about an exfoliant, because it seems like such a boring product, but I love this stuff. It's my all time favorite Dermalogica product and I'm sure I'm not alone, since it seems to have a cult following. It's soothing and gentle and gives the skin a noticeably more radiant appearance (like, after only one use!) In the past I've used that cheap apricot scrub, which left my face feeling kind of scratched up. My dermatologist recommended this and I haven't looked back since. A container does last kind of a long time, so it's a pretty good deal, but I still wish it wasn't so expensive. I've seen it for as much as sixty five dollars at salons, so it is really worth buying it via Amazon.
Customer Rating: Summary: WOW, I really didn't believe it Comment: I had a SPA owner recommend this to me. I thought how could it be better than the others. She gave me a sample and WOW it is great. You skin feels smooth and soft. I think it helps even out the skin tones also. It really is a great product and you use so little it should last a long time.
Customer Rating: Summary: Do your skin a favor Comment: I have finally decided to try this product after running out of the Gentle Cream Exfoliant. Admittedly, it was laziness that prevented me from trying this product in the first place. The thought of having to mix this into a paste-like consistency seemed too much of an effort, when I could easily use the Gentle Cream Exfoliant straight from the tube.
After using this a few times and getting used to the application, which isn't actually difficult, I have found this product truly wonderful. This rice-based enzyme powder contains plant derived ingredients that help brighten skin, leaving it looking refreshed. The Licorice extract known for its lightening properties will also assist in evening the skin tone. This is even better than the Gentle Cream Exfoliant, which I have loved for many years. My combination skin absolutely loves this product. This product is very gentle and would suit even the most sensitive skin. I have combination skin and use this twice a week.
To use this, mix a teaspoon with some lukewarm water until you get a paste-like, not watery, consistency. Massage the mixture onto your skin for about a minute, then rinse the remaining product. Look in the mirror and see the remarkable result that this product gives your skin. Absolutely fabulous!
