CardDeluxe is supplied with with a S/PDIF (Sony/Phillips Digital InterFace) for bit perfect digital transfers from any device that sports a S/PDIF connection. S/PDIF was designed as a consumer format, and even though digital audio transfers via S/PDIF are bit perfect with short cable runs, S/PDIF utilizes an unbalanced cable. The result: cable runs exceeding 2 meters can generate errors producing less than bit-perfect transfers. Many professional audio devices support AES/EBU and TOSLink® digital interfaces.
