Spotlight customer reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: Razer Diamindback Plasma Comment: Super fast and smooth- almost moves itself on my CybaSnipa Tracer pad. I had to turn the settings way low to make it controllable- but the software from Razer was easy to use so no problem! (even for someone relatively PC challenged....but that's not any of US, Right??) Looks cool with the blue light in the see through case, too. Customer Rating: Summary: Razer Diamondback (5/5) Comment: Easy to install, responsive enough that no other mouse feels the same anymore, just buy it already! Customer Rating: Summary: Razer Comment: Over a year, still looks new, love it! The adjustable speed is crucial now that I have it. Really makes jumping from rifle to tank controls nice. One problem...very rarely I have to start computer up a second time to grab the mouse. This may be a problem with my own setup and nothing to do with the drivers given. I would strongly recommend this mouse. Customer Rating: Summary: Attractive performer Comment: This mouse is a must have! I've used this mouse for the past 2 years, and this is hands down the best mouse I have ever used. The mouse is very comfortable in hand, the button design is great, clicking is responsive and tracking is smooth. Once the drivers are installed the mouse (even with high sensitivity) is precise at all times.
This mouse simply is a must have if you're a gamer. Customer Rating: Summary: Technically a great gaming mouse... Comment: But some of the cons prevent it from getting 5 stars from this reviewer.
Cons: The Razer software does not allow full programming of the 2 tiny side buttons for use in games. I could not get it to work properly so that all games would recognize those buttons. I had hoped Razer could fix this problem but alas, I am stuck with using 3 buttons.
The side buttons are freakishly small and unintuitive so even if they worked in games, they would be hard to actuate.
Pros: The IR sensor is smooth! I can control the player character in video games with the utmost precision. The buttons are very tactile and precise. I haven't been able to reproduce accidental double-clicks. All 4 of my MS Intellimouse Explorer Optical 3.0's failed in the same way: The primary mouse button would double-click with each single click. The positive aspect of this failure is that I could turn any semi-auto gun in a FPS into an automatic or a gun capable of burst fire. In Rainbow Six 3, my favorite handgun (Sig P226) became a machine pistol. I had other players ask about any types of "hacks" during online gaming.
The Diamondback's textured surfaces allow for a positive grip, while the blue LED lighting makes it look rather unique.
I recommend using a cloth surface mouse pad for smoother movement.
