Comment: Amazon is often pretty good on prices, but one time I came back for a second look on a book, and the price had been jacked up $10. For some reason LAYERS magazine is available from the publisher at a much cheaper rate (6 issues for $19.95, also have a 2 year rate).

Summary: Exactly What I've Been Waiting For!!
Comment: Layers Magazine used to be "Mac Design Magazine" before it went through a makeover June 2005. Now it is targeted towards Mac and PC users, and covers ALL of the Adobe creative software (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, GoLive, etc.). It is an incredibly useful and well-balanced magazine.
