Customer Rating: Summary: Wrong picture, right switch Comment: The picture is the 4 port version, but this is the 2 port version.
Works like a charm with my desktop and laptop. No problems switching, with gaming resolution, etc. This does NOT come with cables, and be careful which cables you do get, there's 2 DVI types.
Customer Rating: Summary: No Mac or BlueRay Support Comment: I have a MAC G5 and DELL Inspiron w/Bueray drive. First switch was defective but they sent replacement by 2nd day. Switch does not support blueray. My DVI cables all work directly from monitor to computer but not thru box. Avocent says blueray is not supported. The Mac mouse has a 2-axis scroll 'wheel' but the switch reverses the horizontal and vertical axis. Avocent says the Mac mouse is not supported. Good luck:-(

Customer Rating: Summary: It does the job Comment: This was very simple and easy to set up. Once set up, it just works. It switches my mouse, display, keyboard, speakers, and all USB devices I have attached to a nine port USB hub. The devices on the hub include a scanner, a printer, and a Dymo lable printer. They all switch over fine. No problems. One of my computers is on XP the other is on Vista and this switch works fine with both.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works well when both monitors are on Comment: Pros: The switch works fine, and I like the attached USB hub switch and audio switch, which can either be linked with the computer switching, or unlinked and "left behind" with one computer while switching to the other. Video and audio quality are fine. Works at 1920x1280.
Con: If both computers are on with live displays, it works fine. If one or other computers is completely off, or is disconnected, it works fine with the other computer. But if you are working on computer-A for 15 minutes, and computer-B decides to put its display in power-save mode, the switch erroneously routes the power-save to the monitor, blanking it out. Naturally, it requires switching the KVM to computer-B, jiggling the mouse to awaken the screen, and then switching back to computer-A to resume work. It's symmetrical - working on computer-B is equally troubled when computer-A decides to power-save.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good video quality, poor USB kbd/mouse support Comment: Keyboard and mouse were not recognized by IBM Thinkpad until relocated to USB hub ports, then hot-unplugged and replugged to get Windows to notice. This is also the solution for getting MS keyboard and mouse to be recognized by the MS Intellipoint/Intellitype software.
However, this means that other USB peripherals cannot be switched, as both hub ports are occupied. It also causes Windows to go through its hardware connect/disconnect cycle (noise and all) whenever you switch inputs. And last, it means no support for hotkeys to perform KVM functions, which forced me to relocate the switchbox within easy reach.
Though I am disappointed that it did not meet my expectations out-of-the-box, I might still have bought the unit if this had all been spelled out in advance. I've submitted a tech support request, and will follow up if they resolve these issues.
On the positive side, 1900x1200x32bpp@60Hz looks crystal clear through the switch and six extra feet of DVI cable, which was the primary purpose for replacing my VGA KVM.
Update: after a week of emailed suggestions and upgrading firmware, I am further from a working solution that when I started. The Thinkpad no longer sees the mouse and keyboard at all, and the console ports cannot be used, which means no emulation when unselected. Avocent says my equipment is not compatible with their switch, and sent a non-working link to their hardware compatibility list. Next stop: RMA request.
