Try the 3D space mouse... no table top required! It fits easily into either your right or left hand and doesn't need to be contained to a mouse pad. Never hunt for "mouse space" again! It's a great alternative to standard mice or trackballs. The ergonomic design of this 3-button mouse/trackball combinations is ideal for home, office, or the mobile traveler. A perfect "hands free" computer control device for multimedia presentations!

Customer Rating: Summary: Unit is a bit big & mouse action is not perfect. Comment: The mouse is a bit bigger than i expected it to be. Also the track ball action is not that accurate. If u hold it upright it works fine. But if u tilt the mouse & try to use the track ball it wont move as u expect it to. My suggestion, go for a regular track ball mouse, than the miniature version.
Customer Rating: Summary: Okay but a bit sensitive Comment: Personally, the Finger Mouse was a bit difficult for me; it is a trackball design, but I wanted to try it, so no complaints.
I had no trouble with sparking. My system profiler shows only 100 ma of current just like my other mice. It worked immediately with no problems.
The inside finger buttons are too sensitive for me, and I find myself accidentally clicking them when I don't want to.
"NancyC" said: "Correct way to hold it is with your middle finger thru the center ...". I agree with this. But no matter which way you hold it, there is only one finger at the bottom for support, to hold the unit steady. If you can cope with this, I think this item is a great thing to try out for yourself, at a reasonable price.
Customer Rating: Summary: Finger mouse Comment: This mouse is a unique idea. It does take some getting used to. I find that I can work faster using a traditional mouse or pad. This mouse would be useful on an airplane or another situation where there is no surface.
Customer Rating: Summary: sparks flying everywhere Comment: Hmm...maybe I got a bad one, but whenever I plugged this into the USB port of either of the two completely different types of laptops I use, sparks flew between the port and the plug, and it shut the computer down!
The first time it happened, I thought it was a fluke (since that laptop is kind of old) and I kept it in, restarted the computer, and used it. It worked reasonably ok -- although I think it is designed for a man's hand, since it seemed big and awkward to me. I found the mouse click function on it to be somewhat inconsistent -- most of the time it would follow the link I was clicking on, but sometimes (about 5-10% of the time) it just did not work at all.
Then I tried it on a laptop at work and the sparks happened again...obviously I needed to return it. Even if that hadn't happened, I would not have thought it was a good value, especially with the added shipping charges.
To Cyberguy's credit (the vendor I bought this from through Amazon), they did refund me for my purchase without even having me mail it back to them (they did not, however, refund my shipping costs as well, as Amazon would have for a defective product).
Customer Rating: Summary: Looking for a mouse for my left hand & reduce wrist fatigue Comment: I was looking to give my right wrist a break (I use a marble man from logitech) & this looked great for left hand. Marbleman is great, better then any normal mouse for anyone who has to be careful with their wrists. I am also looking to increase sensitivity & more motor use for my left hand.
This was pretty easy to get used to, a little cumbersome but not bad. The reason I am returning it is because each time you want to use your hand to type, you have to put it down, disentangle your hand from it then type which takes a few seconds for someone impatient like me.
