Customer Rating: Summary: Spark Cellstik Comment: I really like your product. The only problem that I had was that I purchased two of the products, one for me and the other was a gift for a friend. When I opened the first product and it would not work, I opened the second one and it worked fine. I went on-line and processed a request for a replacement of the defective product and I received a replacement in a reasonable time. I will buy from Amazon.com again.
Ed Customer Rating: Summary: Didn't work Comment: Device didn't work from the beginning. First I got "Unauthorized Charger" message on the cellphone. Reformatting the device and upgrading the software finally got the phonebook from the cellphone loaded into the device, but then the desktop software couldn't find the device in the USB port although it said my model cellphone was now supported and "My Computer" confirmed it was properly connected. Tech support people told me to return it to seller. Seller replaced it, but new unit failed exactly the same way. Bug in software or missing files, I'm guessing. Manufacturer's tech support was particularly unhelpful. Customer Rating: Summary: Room for Improvement Comment: It does the job that it was created for. What more can you ask? It would be better if you could save an additional phone directory (assuming it is the same model phone) but it doesn't and so, a one-shot usage is acceptable. It's better than saving all the information manually. Customer Rating: Summary: Adequate Verizon RAZR V3c back-up but not very "slick" Comment: The product works adequately to back-up the phone directory in my Verizon Motorola RAZR V3c to my Windows XP PC. I can edit the directory file in my PC (which means I can use my PC keyboard rather than the awkward process of inputting entries with the RAZR keypad) and transfer the updated directory to the RAZR. It may be just a matter of personal taste, but the directory file program on my PC did not have a particularly attractive appearance to someone like me, accustomed to mainstream Windows programs. Perhaps I'm not a very sophisticated user, but my personal feeling was that the product's software installation process was not as "slick" and easy as I had experienced with other Windows programs. When I plugged my RAZR into the device, the RAZR gave me a warning message (something moreless resembling "unauthorized charging device"). Again, the entire process is not as intuitive--at least to me--as most Windows programs I have used. So follow the directions very carefully, step by step; don't try to guess what to do next. The big advantage of this product is that it does do the basic job (backing up a Verizon Motorola RAZR V3C). I haven't done a lot of searching, but (as far as I know) there isn't much in the way of alternatives for doing this task. Customer Rating: Summary: Amateur hour Comment: The Cellstik seems to work as advertised, but the accompanying software is nothing but amateur hour. It won't allow you to "edit" telephone numbers that contain special characters, such as those used to activate voice mail, etc. And it displays only three types of telephone numbers -- home, business, mobile; others can only be seen if you edit the line. Each record can have only one telephone number. I suggest you wait until the software grows up.
