The Sabrent 3.5" enclosure is designed to use for any IDE Hard Drive - even up to 400GB!The new Cypress Chipset allows you to connect any IDE hard drive externally, while the durable aluminum case effectively dissipates the heat to create instant portable data storage in a case that is extremely compact. USB 2.0 connection (backward compatible to the USB 1.1) allows data transfer speeds of up to 480 Mbps via a standard USB 2.0 A-Male to B-Male cable. This case assembles without screws, and includes a stand to stand the enclosure upright.

Customer Rating: Summary: good product, bad exchange sevice Comment: send me the one without wire, exchange with restocking fee, i'm totally unhapy with it, is it my fault?
Customer Rating: Summary: Great value! Comment: Works well, costs roughly half as much as the "low-end" enclosures you'll find at the big box stores. Doesn't do much to muffle the noise of the hard drive, but that's a minor nit as far as I'm concerned.
Customer Rating: Summary: Worthless Comment: The usb enclosure wants you to have a Fat32 formatted drive to install it? Acceptable maybe 5 years ago but not today! Buy another enclosure!
Customer Rating: Summary: Works great Comment: Cant complain about this nice little enclosure,... loaded an old hard drive, plugged it in,... XP saw it just fine. Nice plain silver/black finish. Only problem was the plastic stand was broken but I wasnt going to use it anyway.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fire Hazard! Comment: I purchased two of these enclosures thinking that a manufacturer can't possibly screw up a metal box and a power supply. Apparently I was wrong! Less than 24 hours after installing my hard drive into the enclosure, I heard a popping sound and then smelled melting plastic. The power supply was completely fried, and I have a dead hard drive to top it off. I tried the second enclosure as well and started smelling burnt plastic immediately after plugging it in. I would strongly caution you against purchasing this enclosure.
