Summary: the joy of sax
Comment: i remember back in 2002 in san francisco, i won a free cd from a radio station....the cd was called " it just happens that way." now, i've never been a fan of smooth jazz, but i'll give anyone a fair shot...so i heard...then, sometime late, i heard mindi's second cd " come as you are." still smooth jazz, but like the first joint, i was rather taken with it....mindi had a nice flow and she's hot and eye candy is always a good thing....though the songs were nothing challenging musically, they were cool to listen to more than once, and i would concur with most people that ms. abair had skills....
if you like the other cds, you'll like this... its just basically pop jazz, it goes down easy...on mindi's remake of rickie lee jones' " it must be love," she has blues singer keb mo playing on it and it also has vocals...tailor made for smooth jazz radio, but its not necessarily a bad thing...i'm particularly partial to " do you miss me? " it's got a nice beat, and mindi proves she can sing... it's just too bad on her latest album she sings more than play sax...i hope that in the future she will stick to playing sax because she's not bad and she could actually make smooth jazz cool....

Summary: Simply Fabulous
Comment: I was volunteering at a wine booth at the Palmdale (CA) Wine and Jazz Festival, and for SURE wasn't expecting any sort of great music. I mean, Hey, it was in Palmdale. I figured local bands, bad music. Shortly after I arrived, this slip of a cute girl comes on stage and starts wailing on her saxaphone. PLUS, she is backed by one of the tightest, kickingest bands I've ever heard. To put it bluntly, I was blown away. (And immediately bought several of her albums including this one. It's been a great decision.)

Comment: I now have five cd's by Mindi, and they are all great in their own way, but I think this is my favorite. I would highly recommend this to anyone, and when you are hooked, check out her other cd's.

She is extremely talented.
Great voice, terrific Sax player!!!..... and song writter.
I've had the opportunity to hear and see Mindi Abair in many concert's in Connecticut and on a Jazz Cruise evening concert in New York.
She did a wonderful Christmas Show show with Peter White at Southern Connecticut State College. I hope she returns here again soon!
