Customer Rating: Summary: Love it!! Comment: Can't say enough about how much I (and my husband) enjoy this windchime. I purchasd it last week at my favorite local Hallmark store. Since I had a $10 Extra Rewards Cash-Off coupon from Hallmark, that brought the price down from $40 to $30 (I should own stock in this company since I am in and out of their store so often). I had been wanting a windchime that really sounded like something beautiful rather than the tinny (almost nonexistent) sound I got from less expensive ones. This filled the bill and then some. We have it hanging on our back deck, which is covered with an awning at this time of year.
I like it so much that I am ordering another one today as a gift for a neighbor's surprise birthday party. She has a beautiful flower garden and pond in her yard, lives a couple doors away, so I'm anxious to see if we can strike up some melodious sounds betwen us since both windchimes will be in our backyards (I hope) and not too far from one another. I'm ordering this one from Amazon, which is offering the best price I've found (other than my local purchase with coupon), with free shipping besides.
I can't believe that anyone would not enjoy the sounds emanating from this glorious windchime. Don't know if its Pachelbel or Canon D, just know I love it!!Woodstock Pachelbel Canon Chime
Customer Rating: Summary: Pretty but not Canon Comment: This is a very pretty sounding windchime and I love it. But it sounds nothing like Canon.
Customer Rating: Summary: Beautiful Chimes, Beautiful Sound Comment: This is one of my favorites made by the WOodstock company, and it's mostly because of the sound. Those long silver tubes give a substantial sound in the middle of the registry: YOu can get more tingly, higher pitched chimes, or more bass-y baritones, but the moderate pitch here makes this an excellent all-purpose chime, perfect for the chime novice, or as a gift for someone whose preferences you don't know.
The silver chimes are set off against a very dark brown wooden (almost black) upper base and hanging ornament (see picture), along with four tiny chimes of the same material forming a ring inside the main silver chimes. These small chimes make a more delicate sound, nicely complimenting the fuller, deeper chimes. Finally, the Pachelbels have an incredible sustain-after they start ringing the after-tones resonate in a fairly uniform pitch for quite a long time. While some Woodstock chimes look warmer (e.g., the Mozart has greenish chimes and lighter, warmer wood), the classic, neutral look, and clean lines make this very versatile.
Customer Rating: Summary: Beautiful chime, beautiful note Comment: I gave this chime as a gift. I own 2 other Woodstock chimes and am a big fan of the brand. I was surprised to learn that this chime actually has two sets of chimes: Larger chimes that produce deeper notes on the outside and smaller chimes that produce higher tones on the inside. Very cool! And it sounds wonderful!
Regarding Durability
I have had issues with one of my Woodstock chimes falling apart. The chimes are suspended from the base by a nylon rope that is threaded through two holes in each chime. Eventually the metal chime would wear down and cut through the nylon rope causing the chime to fall to the ground.
Woodstock is now putting rubber grommets inside the hanging holes which should prevent the hanging strings from being cut in this manner.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Chimes! Comment: Woodstock chimes are the best and these are no exception. I highly recommend these to anyone interested in wonderful sounding wind chimes.
