Summary: Inexpensive Router
Comment: I was looking for an inexpensive wired router to enable a notebook and desktop to share a broadband wifi connection. Customer reviews of all of the low priced routers I found seemed the same; a mix of favorable, worked with minimal set up problems to could not get to work properly.
Add this one to the "worked as advertised right out of the box" category. I followed the instructions and was up and running in a few minutes. No problems encountered in the 3 weeks of daily use since installation.
I recommend this product.

Comment: Basically a di-604 with cosmetic changes to the case and the web interface. More annoying is the REMOVAL of cool features that the DI-604 had. 1. "static" mapping of DHCP address
2. virtual server port fowarding much more usefull
3. manual firewall creation with extensive rules.
really disapointing. I had such high hopes.. tear...

Comment: Great price on this router. My computer technician went to Best Buy and suggested that I get this one. I knew I could find it cheaper on Amazon. And sure enough, I saved quite a bit! Thanks Amazon. Great router, and easy to install.

It was easy to install and we thought it worked until a few days later, when we kept having to "refresh" it. Within a few weeks, I felt like I was using dial up again. In another week, one port stopped working, completely.
Now, I find out I can't even get a full refund!
Don't take a chance. You WILL be sorry!

Summary: Only thing worse was the tech support
Comment: This router might make a good frisbee, but as a router it is an unspeakable piece of dog doo. Right out of the box, it intermittently dropped Internet connections for minutes at a time. Going through the installation process with the included CD, it informed me that I did "not have the correct router". Silly me. As for tech support, you would be hard-pressed to find support as bad as D-Link's. After navigating a mighty oak of a phone tree and a 20-minute wait, you'll find yourself talking to someone on the other side of the planet who learned English watching Rocky IV. Throw in a connection that sounds like two tin cans and long piece of yarn, and you're in for one frustrating phone call. No, make that many frustrating phone calls because you won't get any useful help on the first several calls, if ever. Some of the expert advice I received after describing my problem included, "Buy a faster cable modem" and "Call your internet provider for help." Uh, thank you? Moving up to a "level 2" technician resulted in a crankier support person who was equally clueless. The stinkiness of this router is only surpassed by its tech support. It'll be a chilly day in H-E-double toothpicks before I ever buy a D-Link product again.
