Customer Rating: Summary: Best Combo on the market! Especially for Leftys!!! Comment: Like other reviewers, I'm extremely hard on keyboards and mice. I type all day at work and some at night and on the weekend. I bought this combo about 14 months ago and this thing is still working like a champ. I think I've only changed the battery on the keyboard once and on the mouse twice - and that's using the keyboard about 14 hours a day! I have no life...
The keyboard controls the volume on my media player and allows you to set up the one you wish to use. Initially I used Windows Media Player and then set it to use Winamp. Just one click and it opens up. That's nice. It increases the size of documents, pictures and web pages. Again, just one button.
There are other buttons on the keyboard I have yet to use. There's a VOIP button, but since I don't have a VOIP phone I'm not sure how well it works. I have used several of the function keys and they work quite well. I'm quite spoiled by just hitting the function keys to move between Word, Excel, the calculator, etc. Very nice.
Now, the mouse. I'm a southpaw and having a mouse that fits well into my hand is a plus. Most modern combos are made for you right handed folks and nothing for the rest of us. This mouse is superb! It scrolls to the right and left easily on a web page and the battery seems to last a lot longer than most out there.
It's very aesthetic and looks nice on my desk. I also like it's ability to have a small footprint taking up less room. I'm not a big fan of these wavy looking models Microsoft puts out that are huge and take up space. I can move the keyboard out of the way easily for other tasks I need to do on my desk.
Bottom line: This is a superb combo and I wish there were more like it. The price is reasonable and I'm happy to recommend to friends and co-workers.
Customer Rating: Summary: logitech Cordless Desktop LX 710 Laser Comment: Key board is a little small (at least it seems like that) otherwise it is fine. One problem with HP mouse was battery short life so far this laser mouse seems to have longer life.
Customer Rating: Summary: This is a great keyboard that doesn't reliably work Comment: I have been using the LX 710 for about a year. It's a great keyboard on which to type, very comfortable, etc. I have had consistent problems with connectivity, dropped keys, having to pull reset the connection. I find that it consumes battery juice faster that expected. It works beautifully and then for several minutes, I'm fiddling with it...working to bring 'er back to life. Perhaps my unit is simply buggy. However, there may be another more current Logitech system that works more reliably.
Go for a newer unit. Otherwise, the ergodynamics with a good wrist pad, support are good. You want a keyboard to work 100% of the time without fail. I don't feel that this one hits the mark. Portability is great but when you are typing and it drops keys...this is frustrating.
Customer Rating: Summary: Decent. Comment: Overall this is a really good buy. For the thirty-five dollars I paid, it works well and has quite a few nice features. The hot keys and the forward and back buttons on the mouse are especially useful. The only downside is that the response time of the keyboard is a little longer than I would like, and very rarely is it consistent. Sometimes the response time is short, while other times it is annoyingly long. Worth the money, though, I suppose.
Customer Rating: Summary: Battery eating mouse Comment: Works as intended, but Logitech says in manuals to expect 4 months of battery life from mouse. I'v owned product for about 6 months and changed the mouse batteries 3 times so far, less than 2 months per change. Not very "green". Listen, I can afford the batteries, but--call me deluded--I expect more. Logitech has work to do ...
