Comment: I had an older model Altec Lansing which I replaced with this new one and
I am totally satisfied with the result. A great buy at under $100.
I recommend it to anyone who wants top quality sound from their computer.

Summary: Good system with a few problems
Comment: Yes like everyone else i like it.I do however have to say to my ears the midrange is a little weak like most of these units.The wireless remote is a joke.It looks like something right out of Toys are us.If you can get the battery compartment open without breaking the plastic put the battery on the slide and try to get in without jamming it.I finally got it in and it worked for maybe five minutes.I called Altec and they said this unit is no longer in production however they would send me another but they are back ordered.I also asked about the free wall mounts that they would ship me for 3.00 dollars.This offer was in the box.They were sorry but this promotion was no longer available.Thus the four stars maybe even three.One more thing Amazon is no longer backing up it's price guarantee for 30 days.So if the price changes next week too bad.

Comment: I just bought a 24" IMac and wanted some nice speakers. I looked on apple's site and realized I was going to spend at least $150. So I remembered that I had purchased Altec Lansing about 7 years ago and was very pleased. I then researched the different models on amazon. For $83 you can't beat it!! The highs are outstanding and the bass is superb!! My co-workers were impressed and jealous !! Trust me, you'll Love it !!

Comment: I got a bose with my fiance for $270 then challenged him to getting a much cheaper subwolfer speaker. Well as they say bose is always bose but in my opinoin this is the next to it. This Altec lansing is a very durable and sleek set of speakers and would recommend it to all.

Comment: These speakers are a good value. Sound quality at lower volumes is excellent - crisp and clear. However, there is significant distortion and even breakup from the satellites when the volume is turned all the way up. Of course, it would be a bit much to expect perfect high fidelity from a product in the sub $100 price range.
