The Linksys Wireless-G Pan/Tilt/Zoom Video Camera sends live video through the Internet to a web browser anywhere in the world!The advanced MPEG-4 video compression produces a high-quality, high-framerate, up to 640x480 video stream. MPEG-4 encoding facilitates good video quality in varying bandwidth environments. WVC200 also supports MJPEG compression for video, providing good video quality at high bandwidth rates.The comprehensive video features include an IR filter cut which allow you to see the images in low or no light environments when an IR lamp is used. Snapshots (in JPEG format) of the image can be taken and saved. Snapshots can also be scheduled and sent to an FTP server.If you want the video to be visible from a remote location or from the Internet, you can open an appropriate port on the Router, and then create password protected accounts to manage access to the camera, or leave it wide open for the world to see. Support for Dynamic DNS lets you access your camera using an easy-to-remember "name", even while using a dynamic IP address. The Pan/Tilt and digital zoom function allows you to remotely control the camera movement and focus, giving you maximum flexibility remotely. Up to 10 simultaneous users can have access to the camera at any point in time. Software is included for multiple camera monitoring and recording to your hard drive with advanced search by time and date. Recording can be set up to record by motion trigger, manual or schedule recording and playback on Windows Media Player without the need for a proprietary player.You can also turn on Security Mode, which tells the camera to send a message with a short video attached to up to three email addresses whenever it detects motion in its field of view. You can then log onto the live video stream if the situation warrants. Wireless security features include WEP and WPA.

Customer Rating: Summary: Worth the price and performs as I would expect Comment: For the price this is worth it. It works reasonably well and has allowed us to log in from work to see our living room and watch our child and childs sitter. It was reasonably easy to install and use. The video quality is not high res or anything, but is usable. The audio quality is average and slightly delayed behind the video image. The best feature is perhaps the ability to PTZ (move back and forth, up and down and zoom) The zoom is ok-- not an optical zoom- more of a digital zoom (with corresponding loss of video quality). Overall I would recommend this product and would consider buying another if we want to monitor another room.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Cam Comment: Great cam. Dependable and clear. No problems with it. We have found it useful and are happy we purchased it. I would recommend it.
Customer Rating:      Summary: Works great...not so great to set up Comment: Cam is good, however hope this helps with others setting this up;
1 - Could only get it to work on WEP
2 - Once you set up the port, you can access it external using you IP address and adding :1024 (or whatever the port number is)
3 - Use a fixed IP address
Customer Rating: Summary: Underwhelmed Comment: I did a fair amount of research before buying this camera, reading reviews, comparing specs, etc. I was fairly confident this was the best internet camera in my price range. I don't know whether or not that's true or if this camera is representative of security cams in general, but I do know I was not impressed by this camera on any level.
Video quality is terrible. Awful in low light. Setup and configuration procedures are draconian. The motor is LOUD when you pan or tilt.
It's entirely possible I'm being unfair. There are challenges for compressing and delivering video over wireless or ethernet. Sacrifices in image quality must be made to limit bandwidth. The only other 'security' cameras I've had experience with are the 20 dollar x10 types which gave me exactly what I expected for 20 dollars.
I didn't expect to get the same image quality from a three hundred dollar camera.
Customer Rating: Summary: Don't Bother with Wireless Comment: Using a wired connection, I got all of the features working. However, the color quality was very poor, with a magenta cast. The pan/tilt motors whirred loudly - so much for unobtrusiveness.
The real troubles started when I went wireless. If I just viewed the video stream, it worked, but as soon as I tried to pan/tilt/zoom, the camera would lock up. It required a power-cycle to regain response.
I returned it.
