Firefly and Serenity have grown beyond the genius of Joss Whedon. The words Firefly and Browncoat have come to symbolize a sense of community, family, and believing that the impossible can be accomplished. These concepts are at the very heart of Firefly and of its fans. Adam Baldwin hosts the telling of this vivid Browncoat story that features interviews with Joss Whedon, creator of Firefly and Serenity, the cast, crew, and most important, the fans themselves.
---> The story chronicles the rise, fall, and rebirth of the cult TV show "Firefly" as told from the perspective of the fans who helped save it. Fans of the TV show and movie share what inspired them to become passionate about Firefly, to help save Firefly, attend shindigs, participate in message boards, donate to charities, and become Serenity extras. They talk about the many ways that Firefly has affected their lives. The cast and crew also share humorous and insightful experiences.

Customer Rating: Summary: Quite a feat Comment: Have to admit, I had never heard of Firefly before, although I do recall catching maybe the last 15 minutes or so of the very last episode when it was still running on the air. Thought it was a cool premise, but never thought of it again until I saw the trailer for Serenity. At that point, I thought there must of something about this show that I was missing. To make a long story short, I'm a fan now.
This DVD is quite an accomplishment. It's almost completely fan driven and to have a following this strong to develop (and complete)a project like this is absolutely amazing. If you're a fan yourself, you owe it to yourself to view this labor of love by folks who are probably just like you. We may never see these great characters on the screen again, but like all loved ones from our past, we have this family album as a tribute to them.
Customer Rating: Summary: Shiny Comment: I'm really glad I finally decided to get this. A great gift to any Browncoat. Also has 5 easter eggs. Good luck finding them all, it's worth it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good Documentry Comment: Good reveiw of a fans journey from the axing of the series to the making of the film Serenity.
Customer Rating: Summary: Downright Inspirational Comment: I first heard about this at ComicCon, and I'm so glad I went straight here and bought it. If you are a "Firefly/Serenity" fan, it'll make you laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time - just like the show. Like many others, I didn't even become a fan until "Firefly" had left the air, so I was spared the agony of its cancellation, but I can share the pain watching these Browncoats relate how it hit them and be inspired by their determination to "do the impossible" and keep the show flying. Watch this, and you find yourself loving the fans, loving the actors, loving the crew, and above all, loving Joss Whedon for everything he brings to his 'verse. And now that I'm one of those still begging those who haven't seen "Firefly" to just go ahead and BUY the DVDs - don't bother renting... who's given it for Christmas and birthdays, and who still hopes for more.... Well, I watched this and laughed and cried and sang along and really loved every minute of it.
Customer Rating: Summary: How I Became a Browncoat Comment: It was this documentary, as shown by the fans who made it at Comic-con International, that made me want to know what all the craze was about. My friend said, come sit through the documentary and on Saturday I will come over and we'll watch the show. By the time it was over I couldn't wait and I said... "WHAT TIME SATURDAY?!?!" You too will want to dawn your Jayne hat and sing about the Hero of Canton after watching the best fan documentary I have ever seen!
