Editorial Reviews:

Most bed pillows don't support the head and the neck. The Original McKenzie® Cervical Roll provides necessary support to the cervical structures and maintains a natural curve of the cervical spine while one sleeps on the side or back. If you suffer from frequent episodes of neck pain; referred pain in the shoulders; nighttime neck problems; or morning pain or stiffness in the neck, your sleeping position may be at fault. Placed between a pillow and the pillowcase, the cervical roll is designed to work with most conventional pillows. It is affordable and portable, and it is not hot and uncomfortable or snug around the neck like a cervical night collar. Made of low density foam with a removable and washable cotton/polyester cover. Size is 3 1/2" in diameter x 20" long. The roll must be used with a very soft pillow (ie; feathers. According to Dr. McKenzie molded rubber or foam pillows should never be used if you have neck problems. This item cannot be returned if the plastic seal is broken. THE MCKENZIE APPROACH TO SPINAL CARE Robin McKenzie has devoted over 30 years developing a system of examination and treatment for non-specific spinal mechanical pain that has been recognized internationally and taught to thousands of clinicians worldwide. McKenzie is an accomplished author and journal contributor, and sought-after lecturer. Low-density foam. Latex Free.4"D x 20½"L. This item is not returnable once removed from the sealed plastic packaging.

Summary: Not bad, but not what I expected
Comment: I was trying to find a replacement for a pillow I had a few years back. Superficially the pillows look the same, but my pillow was much firmer. I still use this new pillow, but think it would be better if there was more/ a better description as to the firmness. It's a good product, though.

Summary: Surprisingly, it does the job
Comment: I used to use a tempurpedic memory foam pillow. It worked for a while to ease morning neck stiffness, but after a while, it didn't retain enough support to properly position my neck. At first, when i bought this, I thought it would have the same softness/degradation issues as the tempurpedic, but it doesn't! It's soft and unobstructive enough to feel like a soft bump in the pillow but I'm surprised that its firm enough to properly support my neck. I have not had any neck stiffness since I started using this roll in my pillow. And that goes for sleeping on both my back and side. I would recommend that you get this if you are a calm sleeper (i.e., don't move around a lot at night). Otherwise, the roll could shift around and actually be out of place relative to your neck, which could make things worse.
