The Linksys Wireless-G PrintServer with Multifunction Printer Support lets you connect a multifunction USB printer directly to your network, eliminating the need to dedicate a PC to print sharing chores. Using a PrintServer frees up your "print share PC" so you don't have to leave it on all the time. It also removes the printing bottleneck, and sets your PC free to do more useful work. The PrintServer is compatible with most USB multifunction printers, and allows full access to printing, faxing, scanning, and copying functions. Like any print server, users on the network can print anytime. The other functions are treated a little differently - any user can request access to one of the other functions, and get exclusive use of that function until his task is complete.Connect the PrintServer directly to your network by 10/100 Ethernet cable, or wirelessly at up to 54Mbps via Wireless-G. The wireless option lets you put your printer wherever you want to, without having to run cables. Whichever way the PrintServer is attached to your network, both your wireless and wired PCs will have access to it, and the printer it's connected to. And if you don't use wireless for general networking in your office, you can still use the Wireless-G connection in ad-hoc mode to print from visiting Wireless-G and Wireless-B PCs.Your wireless data is protected by up to 128-bit WPA-PSK encryption. A user-friendly Setup Wizard makes installation easy, the compact case fits anywhere, and the big print buffer handles even large graphics-intensive print jobs. Let the Linksys Wireless-G PrintServer with Multifunction Printer Support bring efficiency to all your home office tasks.

Customer Rating: Summary: Doesn't work with OS X Comment: Although I could get this to successfully print a test page from my MacBook Pro running 10.5.4, anything else I tried to print only resulted in blank pages. This is absolutely unacceptable and this product should embarrass the software developers at Linksys, especially with the high price tag this carries. I quickly returned the product and replaced it with a D-Link print server that works great from both Windows and Mac. I'm very disappointed with Linksys on this one, as I'm generally a fan of their products.
Customer Rating: Summary: One of the worst Linksys products Comment: Allthough its advertized as a wonderful and magic solution to share the printer/scanner, unfortunately there is nothing magic or wonderful in this product.
The main complain would be the lack of information on the requirements and limitations that you'll find out when you start using this product:
1. You must PHYSICALLY install the printer/scanner on every single computer that needs to have access to it. Installing the driver/software only wont work. If you have many computers and a heavy MF then you'll have to go and install one by one prior to anything.
2. You must install an additional software on the computers that will trick the printer/scanners drivers to use them via network. These are additional services that will have to run on the computers.
3. For printing this utility will lock the connection between your computer and the print server until one minute after you've finished printing. If other computers try to print they'll get an error. This is very annoying.
4. For scanning you need to use a Linksys utility to lock the communication between your computer and the print server. Neddless to say that nobody will be able to print or set prints in the print queue.
5. For scanning it doesn't always work well. HP scanning software (or twain driver) sometimes gets blocked and a reboot is required.
Awful product. A lot of improvement is required before seriously considering it "a solution".
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Print Server Comment: After reading all the reviews I was scared to death. What an overraction.
If you are using a new printer load its drivers on your computer and make sure it works properly with a direct wired USB cable. Then load the Linksys CD and follow the directions. I chose to use a static IP address in my routers range. When asked enter the WPA (or WEP) password enter the same one you use on your router. That's all there is to it.
Total install time was 20 minutes with 10 of that waiting for the software to load.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works great on a HP6210 Comment: I have had this product for about a month now for an additional network printer and have not run into any issues. Range is good as print server is in library and wireless-G access in separate office over garage. Has good connection speed 24-36 mbs which is plenty for printing even the largest of print files. Setup was about 10 minutes. Installed Linksys print server software on one laptop for scanning and other multi-functions and use TCP/IP printer port for printing only to the HP 6210 from other laptops. Recommend assigning a static IP to the Print Server to maintain same printer and network connection.
Customer Rating: Summary: wireless G PrintServer with Multifunction Printer Support Comment: Easy set up in Windows XP virtually plug n play but following instructions made it work like a charm! Set up in Ubuntu Linux was a smaller challenge but it works great too. Had to use the information from the Ubuntu forums gurus but it still works. I used an HP Printer which works well with both Operating systems. Have a wireless network at home and now the printer can be put in the house separate from the computers and wireless router.
