The PRO-12UL KVM switch is a remarkable new USB KVM / Hub. Taking the flexibility of the UR-12 and adding additional features, there isn't a down side to this new release. The PRO-12UL has a new sleekly designed chassis (in-line with future ConnectPRO releases), which features a weight loader to make mounting the unit on a wall or desktop more convenient, and smaller cable design to make the installation simpler. Other new features include Hot-key controls and support for higher video resolutions.

Customer Rating: Summary: Works good for USB, but Comment: The little box works fine, it's just that if you are using the older PS connections and converting to USB to hook up to this guy - there is about a 6 full sec. delay before the keyboard will work when switching between System #1 and System #2. But, for the price- it does the job.
Customer Rating: Summary: A USB KVM Switch that Works! Comment: I guess third time's a charm. I've been through the Trendnet KVM TK-209 and the Belkin USB Flip, both products failed to work. This one doesn't. I use a notebook(Linux) and a desktop(Win2k) with this switch. The housing is aluminum and comes with a weighted mounting plate that attaches to the bottom of the switch. An external power cord is supplied; though the manufacter states that it's not necessary after initial install, but can help with stability or connection loss prevention. I prefer the unit to use its own power source. The hot keys work as well as the push button switch on the unit. The unit is fairly small and should not get in the way if you plan on setting it on your desk. I keep mine mounted vertically behind the desk with velcro. The unit also has an extra usb port to share a printer, scanner, hard drive, etc. between two computers. Like they say, "You get what you pay for"; and I would recommend spending a few extra dollars for this switch, which is actually reasonably priced.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works great... exactly as described Comment: I have an HP Media Center machine with XP (Media Center) and an older Athlon based dual boot machine with Linux (Slackware) and XP Pro and use a wireless mouse/keyboard setup. All are working flawlessly with the ConnectPro Pro 12UL... exactly as advertised. No ill effect on the video resolution. I share a printer and an external USB hard drive between the two systems using the extra USB ports on the Pro-12UL as well. Two thumbs up... a great product, well built. Highly recommended.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not Ready For Primetime Comment: Bought this product to control a new computer workstation (Dell Precision 390) and an older computer (Dell Optiplex gx270). Both computers are running XP Pro and both had clean XP installations with updated drivers. Unfortunately I had problems from the beginning getting the switch to recognize the GX270. Called ConnectPro and they provided instructions for the protocol necessary to get the switch to work. I had an uneasy feeling about having to follow a protocol while connecting the switch to the computers. USB is supposed to be hot swapable and I expected a KVM switch to be completely robust. Even after following the protocol exactly, the PRO-12UL switch lost USB communication with the computers periodically. With the GX270, communication was lost every 10-20 minutes. With the 390, communication was lost sometime over night. Although ConnectPro's support people were friendly and responsive, I don't have the time to debug their product for them. I returned it for a refund because I needed a reliable switch.
