Watch your productivity soar when you go wide with NEC. The 26" (25.5" VIS) NEC MultiSync LCD2690WUXi delivers an entirely new perspective to your desktop. With its wide-format design (16:10 aspect ratio), which provides roughly the same work area as two smaller sized displays, you can simultaneously view multiple/side-by-side application windows. With its multitude of leading-edge capabilities, combined with groundbreaking design, this monitor could easily be considered the most intelligent visual display solution to date.91% color gamut vs. NTSC and 93.8% coverage of the Adobe RGB color spaceWith NEC's exclusive X-Light Pro backlight/sensor design, brightness and color settings can be held constant over the useful life of the displayColorComp technology compensates for slight variations in the white uniformity level, improves color, and evens out the display’s luminance uniformitySuperior screen performance (800:1 contrast ratio, 1920 x 1200 native resolution, 400cd/m2 brightness)Supports an internal programmable 12-bit lookup table (LUT) for calibration

Customer Rating: Summary: Good monitor for critical photo work Comment: If you are doing serious digital photography, you need a monitor that can display as many colors as possible. Most monitors are limited to the sRGB color space, while this one can display almost all of the much larger Adobe RGB color space. It's an expensive monitor for the size, but worth it for its color display capabilities. Also, the monitor's controls and menus are very well planned and executed.
Customer Rating: Summary: Outstanding Product Comment: Rather expensive, but worth it for serious photographers who need accurate color and a wide gamut. Easy to use controls with lots of ability for user adjustments. No negatives other than cost.
Customer Rating: Summary: Exceptional quality but at a cost Comment: Excellent options and quality.
A little pricey
Make sure you are ok with the wide gamut before buying.
For movies (blu-ray) I use the Nvidia panel to bring down saturation to ~35%. Otherwise faces are unnaturally pink.
Photoshop is a must.
Customer Rating: Summary: The Monitor My Wife has always Wanted Comment: We are amateur photographers. We take classes from nationally known photographers. We ask them questions about the best equipment. Out of one of these sessions, we learned about this monitor.
Its performance (91% of Adobe RGB) and price are above comparison. Other monitors of this type go for thousands more.
It was her recent birthday present and my stock now is very high.
Customer Rating: Summary: Astonishing color, HDCP enabled, can play Blu-Ray Comment: I got this for editing HD video and photographs. I wanted 1920 pixels with a wide color gamut, and this monitor definitely delivered. Breathtaking color. I was watching the BBC planet earth series in HD and it was amazing.
Four stars because the monitor had a slightly dimmed band around the edge. I don't think a monitor this expensive should have any visible luminance variation. I returned it and got an EIZO monitor. Eizo CE and CG LCD panels are the gold standard.
