Photos, documents, slides, and negatives all look great scanned in 4800 x 9600 dpi resolution. Plus, the Scanjet G3010 Photo Scanner even lets you remove red eye and brighten dark areas of your photos.

Customer Rating: Summary: GREAT ENTRY LEVEL SCANNER FOR A GREAT PRICE! Comment: The HP Scanjet G3010 is a great entry level scanner for a great price. It will exactly perform as it was meant to be--scanning pictures, films and documents. The resolution is great for an entry level scanner 4800 x 9600 dpi and the USB connectivity is just plain convenient. It comes with 3 software discs--one each for XP, Vista and Mac. So whichever operating system you are using, you are pretty much covered. The software is also bundled with HP's own PhotoSmart Premiere so you can edit really old pictures. Start-up time is good enough, it is neither fast nor slow. I also love the slot for the films and slides, you can scan 35mm negatives and the results are just plain awesome. The loading part of the scanner is also one of the features that attracted me. You can scan oversized books because the hinging mechanism is adjustable. It is a great addition for my HP laptop and PhotoSmart printer. I was thinking of buying and all-in-one but my PhotoSmart printer is still working great so I just opted to buy a separate scanner. If you are looking for a scanner for just regular picture and film scanning, look no more. I highly recommend this scanner!
Customer Rating: Summary: G3010 Scanner Comment: I have Windows Vista, a laptop with 2 gig memory and I just purchased the G3010 scanner to see if it could do what i wanted. I have many old photographs that needed to be scanned to include them in a web album. I was very surprised that it worked great with no problems for what I wanted it for. I did not test other functions but scanning to jpeg worked perfectly and you can scan more than one photo at a time. Hp apparently updated software for Vista. In the box you get 3 disks and one is for windows Vista operating system. I really love the quality of the scan and price.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works as advertised Comment: I bought this scanner a few months ago, and have not been disappointed. I am running Windows Vista Home, and after inserting the disk that was shipped with the scanner I was up and running. No problems with the Windows drivers as some have mentioned.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great scanner Comment: When I received this scanner I hooked it up to Windows Vista. It worked beautifully the first time. I had read reviews to not buy it for Vista but I didn't have any problems at all. Very easy to set up and I was using it immediately. I get excellent copies. The only bad thing I can say is that sometimes I don't get a full bed scan. It seems to be after I have rescanned the item at a different resolution. I would recommend this product.
Customer Rating: Summary: HP Scanner Comment: After entering program, could not use because it could not be initialized so after several hours of total frustration including time with an HP agent, sent it bak for refund. not a friendly scanner. aare they all like this?
