Summary: Unreliable
Comment: I bought this device about 6 months ago. It's been unreliable, and inconsistent. Sometimes it works for weeks without an issue. Sometimes it fails multiple times in the same day. Sometimes I can get it to work by unplugging all the cables and plugging them back in again. Sometimes nothing I do makes a difference, and I just have to wait for it to feel like working again. Today I bought a replacement from a different manufacturer, and tomorrow I am going to drop the Belkin off a tall building. (Not really, but I wish I could!)

Comment: The hub has plenty of ports, 7 in all, with 5 in the rear if the unit and 2 more accessible ones on top. The cable management is a nice little touch. A very good value.

Summary: Does the job
Comment: The Belkin USB 2.0 Plus Hub (7 Port) F5U307-WHT is the answer to the proliferating number of usb devices on my desk. I love my new Imac both for both its form and its function. But I dont love having all the usb ports on the back, and not enough of them at that. Now I can have my external hard drive, card reader, usb headset, keyboard, printer, and Ipod all connected at the same time. Yes!

Summary: I had a problem probably unrelated to the product
Comment: When I installed the hub, and moved some USB plugs around, my computer would not boot up. On a previous occasion with a similar problem I had called a tech, and learned how to deal with this: remove every USB plug-in and put them in one by one, booting up each time. So I only removed the ones that I thought were causing the problem. It worked...but it had been my hope to reduce the number of wires behind my computer. The hub works, but I can only use it for new or a few things like my camera and my turntable. I think my problem was unrelated to the hub.

Comment: Bought this and installed it just over a month ago. No more messing with cables behind the computer. Just in time as one of the front usb ports was beginning to lose connection sporadically. Plugged in and it worked. Will probably add a second one sometime soon. No issues with it yet and I use my computer daily.
