Rye breads range from light and airy?like our American White Rye?to dark and dense like pumpernickel. We wanted a hearty, flavorful rye bread?not too strong but with substance?for sandwiches. There's nothing that matches a meat and cheese sandwich on good rye. This Deli-Style Rye is a medium rye bread. It is made with a full-bodied rye flour but tempered with a quality, high-gluten bread flour. We added a touch of molasses, malted barley, and buttermilk to give it a nice robust flavor but went easy on the caraway seeds. Even those testers who said they didn't like rye bread liked this bread. If you like rye bread or great sandwiches on hearty bread, you'll love this bread. Hot and homemade, this is wonderful bread. Ingredients: Enriched wheat flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, and folic acid), dark rye flour, molasses (organic cane sugar, organic molasses), buttermilk (dry cultured skim milk), salt, malt, (malted barley flour, dextrose, wheat flour), wheat gluten, yeast (yeast, monostearate), caraway seeds, and dough conditioner (added for better baking (wheat flour, dextrose, soy flour, calcium salts, dicetyl tartaric acid esters of mono- and diglycerides, ethoxylated mono- and diglycerides, soy lecithin, ascorbic acid, L-cysteine monohydrochloride, fungal enzymes, azodicarbonamide, and calcium iodate)). This product contains wheat, soy, and dairy products and may contain traces of eggs, peanuts, or tree nuts."
