The Variegated Hindu Rope Plant is an exotic house plant native to the far east. It is rather easy to grow and can reach lengths of over 8 feet! The plant is easy to grow. It does best in a filtered light window and watered when dry. The plant prefers to be pot bound.
The plant has thick, convoluted, green, pink, and white leaves, arranged on trailing, twisted stems. Small, white, waxy flowers have red centers and are very fragrant. It is related to the Wax Plant.
Proper name: Hoya carnosa compacta variegated

Comment: I'm extremely satisfied with Hirt's and my Hindu Rope Plant. It was delivered promptly and packaged very well. I was concerned about bugs after reading other reviews, but my plant was healthy and bug free, but a little too moist. I dried excess water with paper towels and have had no problems! The plant is beautiful and represented well by the picture above. I will definitely order from Hirt's again and highly recommend others try them too!

Comment: While visiting my 79 year old mother she was reminiscing about a plant she had once had called a Hindu Rope and how beautiful it was. She and my father now rely on others to get around and go shopping so she hadn't been able to find another Hindu Rope. After contacting several local nursery's we came up empty handed. I couldn't believe that I found this on Amazon, where I shop for everything, but had never thought to shop for a plant. I shipped it directly to my mom, it arrived quickly, and she said it is the most beautiful Hindu Rope she has ever seen. She had never seen on of the variegated variety and absolutely loves it! Thank you!

Comment: Although the plant arrived in a timely manner and was as described it was infested with mealybugs. It is difficult for me to get around so I did not return the plant. I did email Hirt's Gardens about the mealybug problem and have never had the courtesy of a response.

Comment: Just wanted to drop a note to let people know I had very good service and communication from this company. The product that arrived was well represented by the photo and description. I ordered 3 of the variegated Hindu Rope plants and they arrived packaged very well and in great condition. It's great dealing with a company who pays attention to detail in both product and service.
