Editorial Reviews:

Who We Are is another set of rousing anthems from this reflective trio. On their fourth full-length, the Los Angeles three-piece sets the template for a harder-rocking effort with dynamic opener "Disarray," in which singer/guitarist Jason Wade admits he doesn't know where he's going, but "wouldn't have it any other way." The band rocks even harder on album highlight "The Joke," a song inspired by a real-life suicide. It's a risk that pays off, although the lyrics almost make the subject seem more defiant than regretful. Throughout the record, Rick Woolstenhulme's drums sound like they're cranked up to 11--not that there's anything wrong with that (Bryce Soderberg holds his own on bass). In other words, the music isn't shy (or subtle), but Wade's words read more like questions than answers. Granted, closing number "Storm," with Rocco DeLuca on organ, brings things to a gentle close, but most tracks follow in the over-sized footsteps of post-grunge precursors, like Live and Stone Temple Pilots. Then again, as Abigail Van Buren used to say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." If Lifehouse ever find what they're looking for, to paraphrase yet another sage, they may as well pack it in. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Summary: Lifehouse's Best to Date
Comment: It sounds like more time & effort was put into this album that the other ones. Most of the tracks sound like they REALLY invested lots of time composing the lyrics and music

It is a very cohesive and well put together Album.

Summary: don't count on those free extras
Comment: Lifehouse brings us another great album, as you can see by all those other reviews. This review concerns those 'freebies' that are listed as part of the Deluxe CD. Don't count on it! The insert in the CD says it comes with a free ringtone and cell wallpaper, and includes a code to use on a special website, which requires registration. After you give them your email address and go through the email verification log-in, you find out that it's for 3 cell carriers only: Sprint, T-mo, and Cingular. I have Sprint. Put my cell number in, added the special code, got the text on my phone and the text says 'not compatible with your handset' (Palm Centro). So I go back to the web site to see if the wallpaper will work. I go through the whole rigamarole again, putting in the magic code and this time I get a web site edit: 'Code has already been used'. There's nothing on the outside or inside of the CD to indicate that you can choose either the wallpaper or the ringtone but not both. It even says "Free ringtone and more!" Hmmph! Suckered again.

Summary: Very consistant and crafty songwriting
Comment: I'll keep this simple.....a really good mature CD by a band who keeps getting better. If you like this CD, also check out the Fozzy All That Remains Reloaded CD/DVD....heavier band, but on the same track with the melodies and sing/song chorus
