Editorial Reviews:

The multitasking Jabra BT8010 Bluetooth headset acts as a standard mono earpiece connecting you wirelessly to your phone for easy handsfree communication. But it also comes with a second earpiece, converting it into a wireless stereo headset for listening to your phone's music library. The headset features Bluetooth 2.0, the latest in wireless mobile technology, and provides enhanced usability with longer talk time and a clearer signal due to DSP (digital signal processing) background noise cancellation.

Enjoy wireless stereo playback of your phone's music library with the Jabra BT8010 Bluetooth stereo headset.

The main headset offers a host of controls as well as an OLED screen that can recall up to 30 stored contacts.
The main mono unit of the Jabra BT8010 looks like a standard wireless headset with a comfortable ear loop. However, unlike most headsets, it includes a large OLED (organic light emitting diode) display on the side (with blue text on black background) that displays volume level, battery level, mode (phone or music), and caller ID. The BT8010 has a scrollable call history of the latest 15 incoming calls as well as an internal phonebook of 30 contacts. It includes controls for answering/ending a call and music playback, as well as dialing the last number or rejecting a call (phone dependent features).

When you're ready to listen to your tunes, simply connect the second stereo earpiece to the main mono headset via the 14-inch USB cable and tap the mode button to switch to Music mode. While in this mode, the headset functions as a remote control for your music player with play, pause, track forward, and volume functions.

The Jabra BT8010 receives and plays Bluetooth stereo music direct from mobile phones or music players that support the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) for advanced stereo and the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) for remote control from the headset. It's simple to get started with features such as auto-pairing for an easy connection to phones and a jog wheel for navigation of the headset's menus. It also has a multipoint connection that allows simultaneous connection to two devices such as a PC and a phone, or music player and phone. You'll get up to 10 hours of talk time, 6 hours of music streaming, and 300 hours of standby time.

Summary: Good quality and plenty of features
Comment: The Jabra is a good stereo headset for playing music on my cell phone. Also use it to connect to my PS3 as well with no problems. Its not the prettiest thing to wear both headsets although I feel its good if you want stereo sound without being too obtrusive.
You can detach the extra headset to make it mono sound which I think is a plus for driving in the car. You can't do that with other stereo headsets typically. You can connect 2 different devices as well as save a contact list in the headset itself to make calls from. Also can change my music tracks from the headset, I practically don't need to pull my phone out of my pocket! I gave it four stars because its visually unappealing to me when you have both headsets on although the tech savvy will think they have found gold.

Summary: If not for the uncomfortable fit, would be 5 stars
Comment: The Jabra BT8010 headset has some really useful features. The LED display, which can show caller ID info, and the vibrate function are very useful. I haven't actually tried the device in stereo mode yet, as I don't have a phone that can play music.

The battery life is outstanding compared to other headsets I have used. I recharge my phone 2-3 times for every time I charge this device. Also, the battery indicator is the most useful of any rechargeable device I've ever used. Whereas most seem to show 100%, then very quickly they drop to 0%, this one gradually progress from 100% to 0% as the battery drains.

When used as a Bluetooth phone headset, the sound quality is average to above average, for both the you and the person to whom you are talking. I like the auto-volume leveling feature in principle, but since I'm usually at the loudest volume, in a noisy environment, it is already pegged.

My biggest complaint about this unit is the way it fits, or rather doesn't fit in my ear. Even though I have rather large ear canals, with this device, I have two options, neither or which are acceptable. First, I can jam it in my ear, which is very painful and I can tolerate for only 5-10 minutes. Second, it hangs precariously off my ear, and will fall with even a gentle head turn. Whose ear did they design this for, Bigfoot's? If not for this unforgivable flaw, I would love this headset.

Summary: Great idea, great product, but could be improved
Comment: I recently bought this product and I find that I don't want to take it off! It does exactly what it says. I have it linked to my AT&T cell phone and my ipod. On the ipod I have a sony bluetooth wireless transmitter. When the phone rings the earpiece vibrates and at first it can be strange but it does get your attention.

The earpiece does not fit inside the ear so I feel comfortable driving as I can hear the ambient noise with both ear units on. A suggestion for the manufacturer would be to have two types of earplugs. One set for inside the ear and another set for outside the ear. I know some people prefer one type or the other. When not driving if there is a lot of outside noise I would prefer having the option to put the earpiece in the ear and block out the noise.

The only negative comment I have is that there are no separate volume controls for each ear. I have a slight hearing problem in one ear and having separate volume controls would really be an improvement for me.

Summary: Shocking Headset
Comment: I have never had a bluetooth with a vibrate function.
You can see where this is going.
It is BTW comfortable, has great clarity and so on.
But this evening in the kitchen I had forgotten I still had the headset on
... in my ear I heard ding ding ding BUZZZZZZZZZZZ BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
and kids it was loud enough to wake the dead. When I realized there wasn't the mother of all bumble bees in my ear, and changed my shorts, I decided to share :-)
I'm glad I bought it. Good unit
