Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome Product!!! Comment: I got this garden as something fun to do during the off season. My son has helped me take care of it and we couldn't be happier! It is easy to use and grows herbs quickly. I would definatly suggest the aerogarden.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love it! Comment: I received the Aerogarden as a Mother's Day present and I love it. I set it up two weeks ago and all of the pods have blossomed. Most of the plants are already a couple of inches tall. There's very little maintenance and no guessing how much to water or fertilize. I get a real kick out of checking to see how the herbs are doing and I'm looking forward to having fresh herbs to use in recipes.
Customer Rating: Summary: The most expensive produce you'll ever buy Comment: I love my Aerogarden, really I do, but it's like loving a girl who won't go out and get a job because she wants to sit around the house eating ice cream all day. Even if your total cost was the price of a seed kit, you would have to have quite a crop to justify the cost, but don't forget the initial price of the system, and replacement grow lights every six months! My first kit was mixed herbs, but only the basil gave me a decent yield; even so, I've gotta figure my cost to be something like a couple dollars per ounce of basil. But never say die! I like having the greenery indoors, enriching the oxygen, and it's easier than caring for a pet. My 2nd kit, cherry tomatoes, looks pretty promising so far, but I'm a little ticked that as soon as they started to sprout, the garden started flashing the "replace grow lights" signal! Amazon sells the lights for $19, but another vendor sells them through Amazon at a 7.50 sale price...so, not so bad. Maybe I'll get a scale so I can figure the real cost per lb. of my crop this time...but then, I'll have to factor that in as another cost.
Customer Rating: Summary: AeroGarden Pro 100 Comment: The AeroGro Garden seems prone to some malfunctions and parts not working, but the Aerogro web site offers help and the phone service from the co. sends replacements parts quickly. The plants do grow well and it is FUN to use.
Customer Rating: Summary: Aerogarden is GREAT Comment: I was hesitant to buy a product that was so proprietary and a bit pricey, but I decided to try it anyway. I checked into other grow light systems and other hydroponic systems. All pretty ugly or too big and complicated.
I have not been disappointed. It grew my herbs beautifully, with the exception of the chives that my cat took a liking to. Although Ihave an extensive outdoor herb garden (and vegetable garden), having fresh basil, parsely and thyme, etc. at my fingertips when cooking is a joy. Unfortunately, the cilantro I was so looking forward to was substituted by thyme. I bought another kit that has cilantro. Plus, I understand now that I can just plant cilantro in the extra foam thingies that can be purchased.
My problem is that I now want to plant lettuce. In Southern California, lettuce won't grow in the intensely hot summers, so I am faced with home grown tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, etc, and store lettuce. So, I will be purchasing another AeroGarden to grow lettuce.
Unlike others, I have had no trouble with the light, pump, or anything else. I highly recommend this if attractiveness and convenience are important. If attractiveness doesn't matter, there are other, cheaper systems that will do pretty much the same.
