The .4L bottle is perfect for my preschoolers, and with a little practice, they got the hang of opening and closing it. The bottle fits nicely into their lunch boxes, but doesn't weigh it down too much. Comment: We generally are happy with our Sigg bottles, however, the bottles are not insulated, so if you put something cold in them, the bottle becomes very cold to the touch. My kids often complain about this. We have other stainless steel bottles that are insulated on the outside that the kids definately prefer. Also, the opening of the Sigg bottles is very small which makes it difficult to clean thoroughly.
