Good intel and proper gear are the keys to victory. With the Logitech G15 keyboard, you get both. Now you can easily discover on which server your friends are playing Battlefield 2142, be notified when your World of Warcraft battleground becomes available and know exactly who's talking in Ventrilo with the Logitech G15 keyboard's exclusive GamePanel LCD. You can also create useful macros on the fly that play back with a single press of one of the six G keys. As every key features illuminated characters, with three levels of brightness, you can keep playing late into the night.

Customer Rating: Summary: Simply bad A$$ Comment: Well thought out keyboard. Nice feel on the keys.
I use it to play COD 4 and Crysis. Works really well with xFire and Ventrilo for clan play/communications.
Wish they had put headphone/Mic ports instead of USB connectors on the back of the keyboard.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good but Saitek just released the Cyborg series Comment: Saitek PK17U Cyborg Gaming Keyboard with Tri-Color Backlighting
I have owned just about every gaming keyboard there is including the Logitech G15, which was my favorite until the Saitek's Cyborg line of gaming gear, including an intense keyboard, came out a month or so ago. I like the way the keys feel and the layout of the macros is great. It is more than worth a look before purchasing anything else. Another factor in the Cyborg's favor is the back-lighting which can only be described as unique like you would not believe; you can assign blocks of keys you use most often (W,A,S,D) a different color then the remainder of the keyboard. The Cyborg mouse is also unique in that in order to elongate it to get it to fit your hand you have to use the software which starts a motor in the mouse which sizes it automatically. Neat stuff but I admit I have given it to my son and gone back to my Razer, which fits like a glove. My 2nd favorite gaming keyboard has to be the simple Microsoft 4000 ergonomic which I find to be very comfortable for certain games where practical.
Customer Rating: Summary: Owner of the previous version Comment: I own and quite happy with the previous version of the G15. The lighted keys is what sold the product to me as well as the logitech name. I play WoW many hours in the dark so it was a no brainer. I will use my old G15 til the lights burn out and replace it only with this one. I only wish it was cordless. But with all the features I am sure that is virtually impossible.
Customer Rating: Summary: Finally...a keyboard with intelligence and capability Comment: My forty seven year old eyes need some help while gaming at night and the G15 is wonderfully legible, with two settings for brightness. In addition, the LCD display has a three position (low, mid, high) setting for both brightness and contrast. The LCD display is a wonder in itself. Capable of varying font types and sizes, generated by the games suppported by the profile software. The display has it's own programming software and comes with support for about 100 games as of version 2.02. The keyboard has six "g" keys arrayed vertically on the left of the keyboard. This is the second version G15 to be produced and it is smaller and better designed than it's predecessor. The LCD display is now molded into the keyboard, rather than being attached by two points from which it tilted.
The "profiler" software is able to assign keystrokes, macros, functions, shortcuts...I'm sure it probably knows how make you a better gamer if you're willing to invest the time needed to master the complexities of the software. If you want a REAL gaming keyboard buy this baby. Your eyes (and fingers) will thank you.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not just for gaming Comment: I see a lot of reviews hammering this keyboard for the lack of its predecessor's macro keys. It has 6 macro keys which can increased to a total of 18 via the memory buttons. I seriously doubt there are many people who really need the 54 total macro keys the previous G15 had, and I think 18 would be sufficient for most. Also, the narrower size makes this a better fit for my setup.
I like the orange lighting of the LCD, and it not having it flip-up is fine for me - less chance of something breaking. Logitech toughts this as a gaming keyboard, but this is really suitable for just about anything computer related requiring a keyboard. The keys have a nice feel for me, not too soft or too hard to press. Price is a bit on the high side, but if you can get it with the rebate then it's not bad considering what this keyboard offers - the LCD, backlighting and macro ability.
Searching the web, I found quite a few applets available for the G15 that I was interested in - Trillian, TeamSpeak, BF2142 and others. And it looks like more are in development. This is the only keyboard I'm aware of that offers this LCD capability, and it was great to find a lot of my apps are already supported.
I gave this keyboard 5 stars because it suits my needs perfectly. Everyone's different, but definately check this out if you're in the market for a decent keyboard that's not just for gaming.
