Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent upgrade from PE2 Comment: I have been using Elements 2 for some time and find it to be an excellent tool yet I felt ready to upgrade and liked the new features that 6 offers. The reason I am not buying PE 7 is because 1. Based on reviews the only significant difference is heavy marketing of web albums (I am a flikr user so don't need) and option to change background color (I like the greys). I downloaded the free version first (which everyone should do as there are some complaints about system stability) and found no problems with crashing and so forth. There is a significant upgrade in quality compared to the earlier version, especially in the image enhancing tools which is what I principally use. The color curves option is fantastic and the ability to fine tune shadows and highlights is excellent. The quick selection tool is also a real time saver after years of using the magnetic lasso. Also raw capability is a welcome advantage and the interface is excellent. This is a wonderful choice for early version users of PE who are ready to upgrade (download free version first of course).
Customer Rating: Summary: PhotoShop ver. 6 Comment: I bought the upgrade of this in July after our Alaska trip and then I found out there was a newer version coming out in Oct. that they so carefully neglected to tell me about, which I think is pretty crappy!! I do like it, but some of the information on the tools still does not explain it adequately enough for me to understand it. I guess I need to sit down with the book and make notes. I do like the software, as I was using ver. 5 before, to me it is the best you can buy. I had software that came with my Canon camera and HP printer, but they didn't even come close to Adobe.
Customer Rating: Summary: Photoshop Elements 6 Comment: I've spent many hours with this product. It is pretty intuitive, and that's a good thing - because it is also very rich in features and there is a long learning curve to fully use those features. I like it - and use it, by choice, instead of other photo processing tools I have. My needs are not professional and limited to simple processing. My only negative reaction is to Photoshop's obviously planned obsolescence of products and continual communication and advertising once you enter their door with their very fine and affordable "Elements" program. For example, I bought elements 6 when new, but as I review it, it is now "old." Go figure!
Customer Rating: Summary: Adobe photoshop Elements works great with Vista! Comment: I was always happy with Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 on my older XP system. However it did not work at all when I got a new PC with Vista. I purchased 6.0 and it works beautifully with Windows Vista. Plus I feel the features are nicer than v3.0. 3.0 always seemed a bit quirky but dozens of little annoyances seem to have disappeared with this version. I do a lot of photo editing and this program works sweet!
Customer Rating: Summary: Not User Friendly Comment: This product was more expensive than previous photoshop cd-roms I've purchased, and my other ones work so much better. This one doesn't come with an instruction manual and it should if it's going to be so difficult to try to do the simplest tasks. Very disappointed in this product and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Very time consuming and waste of money! I'll just stick to my Photo Explosion Deluxe, which does much more than Photoshop Elements and was 3times cheaper.
