Customer Rating: Summary: This is A great mouse Comment: I bought this mouse a couple of weeks ago. I love using it. It is very convenient to use. The only problem I had with it so far was easily fixed by restarting my computer. The battery life is great. It is surprisingly comfortable to use and doesn't take long to get used to its sensitivities. If you are looking for a nice bluetooth, rechargeable mouse, I would highly recommend this mouse
Customer Rating: Summary: I continue to be hooked Comment: Actually, this is my fourth MOGO mouse. I gave the first two to customers who thought it was the neatest thing since sliced bread. My third one didn't fit the slot in my new laptop, no matter how hard I mashed it in. Finally figured out that the PCMCIA slot was different...
So I sold it on E-bay.
Went into my "Must have MOGO Mouse! Argh! Lurch!" mode and got this one.
Works neat! And surpasses the older version. Again, it is great for people who move around and use their laptops in weird places, such as coach class trays, couch armrests, hotel menus (sucks on glass table tops).
Why is it better than the older version? It has a laser pointer and (not so good) scrolling. But maybe there's a trick to scrolling that I haven't figured out yet.
It is surprisingly comfortable - I though that the little flat part sticking out would interfere, but after about 2 minutes one stops noticing. I think it feels better than the old one.
Yeah - I got some problems with the scroll bar - as everyone comments it is jerky and hard to control - so I treat the mouse as a normal mouse without a scrolling wheel. It's no big deal - heck Apples used to have (and maybe still do) only a one button mouse - not having the scroll thingie is not the end of the world.
And the laser pointer is cool, and means one less thing I need to carry around. Life is good. And there's a certain perverse pleasure in casually pulling the mouse out its slot and loaning it to another presenter who forgot his laser pointer...
Anyhow - if you have a laptop with the new PCMCIA thingie, and it has bluetooth, and you travel or move around a lot, this mouse is a "must have" as a convenient way to always have a mouse (and laser pointer) handy. Tough to lose too.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great for Travel and the Student Comment: I am a student and I really throw my bookbag every where. I have a laptop compartment in myy bookbag and before I got this I was bringing around my Logitech MX Revolution: a recipe for disaster. So I figure that I would get this mouse because I cannot stand the touchpad. It makes me so angry, haha. So if you're like me; you need an external mouse.
Precision: Before you get started with this mouse, do yourself a favor and go to control panel and make the mouse SLOWER. I put it down 1 or 2 notches I believe from my full size mouse. This thing is so light you will not realize how fast you are moving the mouse.
Once you have turned slowed the mouse down; this thing is amazing! I have to do a project for school which involves heavy mouse usage. I used it for my first time and this thing is faster than the MX Revolution mouses that I have and just as precise.
Caveat: this mouse will feel extremely non-ergonomical and anti work conducive when you first pick it up. You have to get used to it. After 2 hours of work I was surprised at how fast I was able to move the mouse across the screen. So there is a sort of "learning curve." But it is only about 2 or 3 hours of normal usage and you'll feel like you are zipping through online screens.
Another tip: Don't be afraid to rest your hand on and man handle the mouse. It's sturdy. At first I was being to gingerly and thought the mouse wasn't working as well. But USE this mouse, put your whole hand over it, squeeze it and it will work better for you.
What I cannot stand is that the scroll does not work. It goes in the opposite direction. The down always seems to work, but you cannot vary the speed or for that matter control it! This does not present much of a problem with me because when I use the laptop I am in the habit of using the PG UP, PG DOWN, and up and down arrows to control the screen, which are conveniently located on the keyboard on the rightmost keys and Im right handed (now that I think about it, this concept might be better for left handers) so I don't use the scroll often when Im on my laptop.
However, it's irksome that manufacturers include features in their items that they know do not work. It's representative of poor business ethics; especially when you tout them and use them to further promote your product. In addition, the button on the strip I cannot get to work...when I want to. Sometimes I'll be on a screen and it will go back and I would have no idea why. But the X button on the strip on the mouse is the back button. But when I actually hit it, it doesnt work. Another flaw.
Overall, I would give this mouse a 3.5/4
Customer Rating: Summary: Good, but difficult to use Comment: Overall, this is a pretty good product. The small size of this mouse is both its prime benefit and makes it a bit difficult to use. The touch/scroll area on the mouse is nice, but dosn't work all that well. This mouse is ideal for someone who wants to have a mouse on hand, but dosn't like to have to carry one around with their laptop.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very poor scroll function Comment: The scroll feature on this mouse is so badly implemented that:
a) it is basically all on or all off so smooth continuous scrolling is impossible.
b) in presentation mode, the scroll bar is badly placed (it ought to be full length) and so sensitive that it will initiate a jump forward of a random number of slides, and, with such poor scrolling, you cannot recover.
c) It operates assymetrically. One can scroll down (abruptly) but it is very tricky to scroll up at all.
The manufacturer also does not respond to email requests for help or suggestions.
Buy from someone else, not MoGo.
