Summary: Amazing monitor
Comment: I just got this monitor - bought it used from someone off of Craigslist but as a heavy Amazon shopper, I wanted to give my feedback here for others considering buying one.
This Hanns-G monitor is absolutely stunning - the picture is crisp and clear, colors look great - it is lovely overall and I am thrilled with it. It would be well worth the money brand new. I have looked at a lot of my pictures on this monitor to really see how it displays colors and images and the quality is superb - crisp, accurate colors, sharp text, simply excellent overall.
If you are considering purchasing this monitor, do so with confidence - it gives a fantastic picture at a heck of a price.
After shopping around a LOT and researching different LCD monitors and TVs I have come to the conclusion that you should simply get what fits your budget and has the features you want - no current monitor or TV that I've seen give truly bad pictures and you can only tell a difference in picture when you have multiple screens right next to each other - which clearly is not the case in your home.
Even when they are juxtaposed, none seem "better" than any other - just slightly different.
I digress.....if you are looking for a crisp, clear 22" monitor at a fantastic price, you can purchase this Hanns-G with confidence.

Comment: Honestly I was weary at first because I had never heard of them before. I bought their earlier model, the Hi221D. I've had it for quite some time now and I must say i'm very impressed. Not only is the thing nice looking, it has HDCP support (it's what alot of digital signals have/need now so look into it before buying tv/monitors), built in speakers (I don't use them but nice to have if you cant bring your normal speakers somewhere), DVI and VGA support in back (must supply your own DVI cable/vga comes with), and a great looking screen.
Just make sure that this particular monitor supports HDCP since it's an important thing to look into especially if you're interested in hooking up your Playstation 3 or other dvi connections. HDCP doesn't affect your computer, but its all about anti-piracy stuff so be in the know. I would say more than likely it has HDCP support because I cant think of a reason the earlier model would have it and this wouldn't.
I've never had a problem with this monitor (knock on wood) so I can't say anything for their customer service but I would let a rebate offer gone bad stand in the way of getting this monitor. Besides, what's the big deal anyways? The monitor is very inexpensive as it is!
Definitely worth the buy.

Summary: Never Buy From Hanns-G
Comment: I bought a Hanns-G monitor due to a great rebate offer and it was one of the worst purchases I have ever made. The company rescinded on the rebate offer (blaming it on a 3rd party) and would not make any retributions. The store that I bought it from felt responsible and paid the rebate. However, this was after 1 year of multiple emails of being strung along by Hanns-G then later the transferred to another company to deal with the problem. Approximately 4 months later, the monitor went completely dead with the only warning of a few streaks in the monitor about a month before. I just spent 2 weeks dealing unsuccessfully with Hanns-G about returning the monitor since it was still under a 3 year warranty. I called multiple times and emailed even more, with the only response that we will send you the return information via email. I never received an email from either address that I provided (and checked the junk/spam mail) and the customer service rep blamed it on my internet provider, which I know was not the case. In any case, I asked the customer rep and later the supervisor to tell me the info over the phone and they refused, because it would take too long. So I asked them to send via snail mail, they said they did not have an envelope. Hanns-G blamed everyone, but themselves and would not solve the issue. I disposed of the monitor immediately so I would not have to look at it or waste another minute on it.

Summary: Very good budget monitor
Comment: I have had this monitor for a week now, and I am impressed by the quality for this price. The image is very sharp, color is gorgeous, and zero dead pixels. Just take the time to get the settings right. I have it sitting right next to a Gateway 19", and this one looks 10 times better! I tried a different brand (Sceptre) and was unimpressed. I ultimately took that one back to the store and ordered this one from Amazon, as they had the best price. If you are looking for a good 22" LCD for a budget price, you can't go wrong with this Hanns-G.
