The two port GCS932U Mini View Micro USB DVI + Audio, KVM switch from IOGEAR represents a simple method for sharing one DVI monitor, Mouse, Keyboard, Speaker set and Microphone between two computers. The GCS932U employs two switching methods. The first is a simple remote switch that allows one tap switching, and it's remarkably small size allows placement in any convenient location on your desk. The second method is by hotkeys, the hot keys provide the means to independently switch control and audio functions between computers. Listen to music from one computer while working on the other. The GCS932U supports 32 bit color at resolutions to 1600 X 1200 @ 60 Hz. it is self powered and its mouse and keyboard emulation ensure uninterrupted operation when switching computers.

Customer Rating: Summary: The Best KVM I've Ever Used Comment: There is no better KVM in this price range. Knowing if a KVM is going to work for you can be tricky, so I'm posting my arrangement to show how versatile this KVM is:
Computer 1: Custom PC (with DVI Video)
Computer 2: Laptop (on Lenovo Thinkpad docking station with DVI)
Peripherials:
Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite (includes Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard and Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0).
I was worried this was not going to work because the wireless transmitter only uses a single USB port, but works great! I plugged the transmitter into the incoming USB keyboard connector, left the incoming mouse connector empty. Then I plugged both outgoing USB connectors into both of my computers.
To my surprise Microsoft IntelliType/IntelliPoint still work. My special keys/buttons (scroll wheels, volume, mute, web) on my keyboard and mouse still work, even though the documentation warns that they won't.
One final note. This product is indistinguishable from this other one,
2PORT Dvi-d Mini View Micro KVM with Audio, so the descriptions on both pages apply to both products.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works as expected Comment: Works great, but the cables are way too SHORT; as a result it takes a lot of squeezing to get all the components close enough to connect.
IF IT HAD LONGER CABLES, I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND IT.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice product, but beware with Mac Pro desktop Comment: I bought this to use with a Mac Pro (desktop) and a laptop. The product is designed nicely, but appears to havean incompatibility with the Mac Pro - whenever I'd switch away from the Mac it would crash, and the error report upon booting suggested the crash was happening in an Nvidia driver. Apparently when you switch away the computer loses EDID information from the monitor, then crashes. I tried the competing Belkin model (F1DG102D) and, while about $30 more expensive, it works well (though it does use a power adapter, while the Iogear does not). One other quirk with the Iogear is that when booting the DVD drive would pop open. I'm using a Logitech wireless keyboard mouse combo, perhaps the problem is related, but I don't see this with the Belkin.
Customer Rating: Summary: Almost perfect KVM Comment: I love having USB keyboard and mouse inputs, DVI on all the ends, soft switch and puck switch capability, but if having a multifunctional keyboard hot key use is a deal breaker, look for another KVM as this does not allow for passthrough of hotkeys.

Customer Rating: Summary: Works great! Comment: After struggling with a Belkin Flip DVI KVM, I bought this one and have had no problems. I'm running at 1920 x 1200 and the screen and keyboard are solid. Be sure to have the computer selected when it boots so it can communicate with the monitor. After that, it works great!
